Why take Honors/Pre-AP
Science classes?




Great preparation for college success
Earn additional grade points in GPA
Preparation for AP Exams for possible
college credit in 11th - 12th grades.
Teach students to think, read & write
critically & analytically
Recommendations for Successful
Science Honors Course
Selection


Maintain at least

80 in Honors Classes

90 in Level Classes
Honors to level and level to
honors moves only at:




Three (3) weeks
Six (6) weeks
Semester
Parent Signature required for
change
Success in Honors/Pre-AP
Science requires students who are:




Self-motivated, hard-working & who enjoy
academic challenge and rigor
Capable of success with challenging material
presented at a faster pace
Willing to take assignments beyond basic
requirements
Able to have time to devote & still be kids!

ALL freshman must take Biology Level or Biology Honors
4 Year Requirements:
 Biology, Honors or Level (9th grade)
 10th Grade and beyond-IPC: The State Board of Education voted to
reverse their earlier decision and has declared that IPC will remain
on the Recommended Graduation Plan! The new graduation plan
will read that students in the Recommended plan must have
Biology, Chemistry, Physics. If IPC is taken in this sequence, it
MUST be taken before Chemistry and Physics.
