different kinds of triangles
Pairs of triangles that are similar,
are very useful to us…
Remember, what does “similar” mean?.....
Similar triangles have the same
shape, they are just different sizes.
Same angles, different side lengths

Cut and create to similar triangles…
If the triangles are similar, the side
lengths will form a proportion!
For your triangles, create the 3 basic
proportions…
You can now create you own proportions,
then solve the equation for any unknown
side of a triangle (pre-trig…..)
Note:
Out of all the random proportions
that we can make up, some turn
out to be better than others.
One of the best proportions, use
the height and the base of the
triangles being studied.
