Email: daniel@peacebuilderscommunity.org Cell: (+63) 908.888.8017 TeleFax: (+63.82) 297.3139 DESCRIPTION The Philippines has a sizable population of Muslims. In many communities, Christians and Muslims live peaceably as neighbors. Violence would occasionally erupt between them not necessarily because of religious beliefs but because of their socio-political and economic differences. This course guides the student to understand objectively the Moro-Migrant Conflict in Mindanao and the Philippines in its proper perspective with the aim of participating in the peace process in both local and national levels. OBJECTIVES After this course, the student should be able to: Understand and identify the various attitudes of Qur’an towards Christians Discuss the various objectives of inter-faith dialogue as an aspect of the Gospel witness Narrate the history of the Bangsamoro from their own perspective Articulate the Bangsamoro struggle for their right to self-determination from the lenses of biblical theology and ethics Develop a church-based dialogical ministry with a Bangsamoro community Strategize a church-based participation in the peace processes between Christians and Muslims locally and nationally PRE-SESSION READING Marites D.
