PSAT SCORES ARE IN! - Students should stop by the Counseling office to pick up their scores and test booklets.
Students will need this material for the March 7 Score Back.
PSAT SCORE BACK – RESCHEDULED TO: MONDAY, MARCH 7, 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm in the LPR
To better understand your PSAT score report, students and parents can attend this Free PSAT Score Return
Seminar. Please bring a copy of your PSAT score to this session.
PALOMAR ASSESSMENT - Seniors, if you are thinking about attending Palomar College in the fall, sign up to take
their placement test through their Early Acceptance Program (EAP). This will give you the advantage of priority
class registration on June 3. Palomar College will be at RBHS on Friday March 4 for assessments at 9:30am and
12:30pm in the Computer Lab (Room 301). Sign-up in the Bronco Center.
1. REGISTER: Online at www.palomar.edu. Apply for Summer 2016 (will rollover to Fall 2016). You must register in
order to take the assessment.
2. SAVE: Your Palomar College ID number. You must bring this number to sign up in the Bronco Center AND to
take the test.
3. REPORT: To the Computer Lab on March 4 at the time you chose. You will not be admitted unless you have
registered.
4. BRING: Picture ID and your Palomar College ID number.
5. MAKE: An appointment with a Palomar College counselor after you take the assessments.
6. VIEW: The online pre-advising video orientation.
7. LAST: You are now ready to register for classes from any computer, any location.
AP EXAMS - AP Exams go on sale in the Finance Office March 1 – March 21. Instructions for registration/payment
will be given to each student during the week of February 8. Please refer to www.rbhs.org for further information.
Instructions for registering and fee waiver applications are available on line.
6 ½ PERIOD CLASSES FOR 2nd SEMESTER - Classes are up and running. Visit www.rbhs.org for the complete
list of course offerings.
OCIS-PE APPLICATIONS – 1ST SEMESTER 2016-2017 – Students requesting OCIS-PE for the next school year
may download an application from the RBHS website through March 11. Completed applications are due to Mrs.
Alper by March 18, 2016 at 3:00 pm. Neither RBHS, nor the District, will accept late applications so please plan
ahead for the next school year.
CRF 4 x 4 Q & A SESSION – STUDENTS ONLY – MONDAY, FEB. 29 – 7:30 am – 8:30 am – PAC
This session is open to ALL RBHS students with questions about next year’s 4 x 4 schedule. Here is your
opportunity to inquire about the quarter/term system, sports eligibility, calendar, classes required, class electives
and any other questions you may be thinking about.
4 x 4 NIGHT FORUM INFO SESSION – TUESDAY, MAR. 1, 6:00 – 8:00 pm in the gym– SAVE THE DATE!
Students and parents are encouraged to attend our RBHS Night Forum on the 4 x 4 schedule for next year. There
will be discussion break-out sessions covering various topics specific to student schedules.
POETRY CONTEST - Enter the annual RBHS Poetry Contest! This year's theme is "From Ordinary to
Extraordinary." Poems can be submitted in English, French, Spanish, or German. Monetary prizes for winners in
each category. Deadline is Friday, February 27. Contact your English teacher, World Language teacher, or Mrs.
Ugalde in S2 for an information flyer.
CASH FOR COLLEGE WORKSHOP - On Saturday, Feb 20th from 9 am to 12 noon, the Financial Aid
professionals at CSU San Marcos will assist senior students to complete their 2016-2017 FAFSA or DREAM
application before the March 2 priority deadline, which is so important for Cal Grant awarding purposes. Spanishspeaking advisors will be available. Pre-Register at: www.sandiegocalsoap.com
LIFEGUARD TRAINING CLASS – April 11 through April 15 from 8:00am to 5:00pm at the RBHS pool for $200.

NEW ATTENDANCE EMAIL - Parents you can now email us at rbhsattendance@powayusd.com each day your
child is absent or tardy. Please be aware that only your valid PUSD registered email will be accepted to clear any
absences or tardies. Off Campus Passes still need to be called into the Absence Hotline at 858-485-4845 or 858485-4840.

SCHOLARSHIP of the WEEK - SD Cesar E. Chavez Commemorative Scholarship is open to high school students
(grades 9-12) in San Diego and Imperial Counties. Complete application and submit response to one of two essay
prompts. Award is $1,000 and laptop! Deadline to apply: February 26.
INTERNSHIP – Senator Joel Anderson currently has a limited number of internship opportunities in his El Cajon
District Office and San Marcos District Office. The internship program requires a 125 hour
commitment. Scheduling is flexible and can be tailored to accommodate your schooling, work, and prior

SENIORS - CAL GRANT AWARDS - RBHS will electronically upload the Cal Grant GPAs for all seniors directly to
the California Student Aid Commission’s system in mid-February.
RB ROTARY SCHOLARSHIP – The Rotary Club of Rancho Bernardo awards scholarships annually to selected
students in the community. Four $1500 scholarships will be awarded to RBHS seniors. Applications can be found
online on Naviance or visit the Bronco Center. Deadline: March 1st!
BBB’s STUDENT AMBASSADOR PROGRAM - Juniors and Seniors are invited to apply to be a Better Business
Bureau Student Ambassador. The program runs from March-May 2016 and is a great program for those interested
in business career fields. If interested, please visit the Bronco Center by February 15th.
SCHOLARSHIPS – The current list of scholarships is posted in Naviance Family Connection and updated often, so keep
checking throughout the year. Students may also use the scholarship match service to find opportunities with specific criteria.
