The Roman Republic: ________________________________________________________ Hannibal razes (completely destroys) Roman towns for 16 years before Rome decides to attack Carthage and he is forced to retreat home to help. Rome invades Carthage with over 100,000 troops and totally destroys the city… they even salted the earth so that nothing could ever grow there again.
