I recommend #2 since you get the full textbook in electronic form and all
the StatsPortal additional resources - also, our bookstore doesn't
seem to have the books packaged with the Stats Portal activation
cards… so be careful!
Accessing StatsPortal
Access available through your bookstore (either via a printed activation
code or packaged with your textbook) or online:
1. Go to http://courses.bfwpub.com/ips6e.php
2. Click the “Register An
Activation Code” link on
the home page
Alert! Do not throw away your activation card
until you’ve registered!
Accessing StatsPortal
1. Enter in:
• Your printed activation code
• Your first name and last name
• Your email address (which will serve
as your Portal username)
2. Choose your password (for
future visits). You will be asked to
also provide a password hint.
3. Re-enter your email address
4. Enter your school data
• Select the state your institution is
located (North Carolina)
• Select your institution (UNCW)
• Select your course/instructor (Frierson)
Your account will be created and
you will be able to access
StatsPortal.
When purchasing StatsPortal online:

• Click “Purchase Access to
StatsPortal” from the home page

• Your first name and last name

your AstroPortal username).
4. Create your password (for future visits).
You will be asked to also provide a
password hint.
5. Re-enter your email address.
6. You will then be taken to the PURCHASE page, where you will need
to enter your payment information.
7. You will receive confirmation of your purchase and may now start
using StatsPortal.
