Why You Should be a Bankruptcy Lawyer
•
Have you considered bankruptcy law? Many students do not realize that bankruptcy interfaces with so many other
disciplines. This program will help fill that gap and will:
o discuss the role bankruptcy plays in the world economy;
o describe the role of the bankruptcy attorney, who, although viewed as a specialist, can also be described as the
last great generalist in the American legal tradition;
o call on participants to imagine the skill set and problem solving required to be a successful bankruptcy
practitioner and encourage them to consider that role; and
o answer audience questions.

The U.S. Department of Justice unveiled a new mobile app, called DOJ Law Jobs, which will provide attorneys and law
students with a quick and easy way to find an attorney position or law student internship with the Department. DOJ
Law Jobs is available for free now on iTunes for Apple iPhone, and additional versions for iPad and Android devices
will be available in the next few weeks. The mobile app was developed by the Office of Attorney Recruitment and
Management and Office of the Chief Information Officer. Users will be able to create personalized job searches based

USD School of Law Launches Alumni Mentorship Program – Apply Now
The Law Alumni Board will launch a pilot Alumni Mentorship Program for 3L and 4L students in the Spring 2015
semester. The program offers at least three opportunities to connect with your alumni mentor in various settings and
no other time commitment. An alumni mentor can provide valuable guidance on professional development,
networking, navigating the law school experience, and transitioning into the legal profession. If you are a 3L or 4L who
would benefit from having a mentor from the law alumni community, complete an application now! Access the
