A Midsummer Night’s Dream Intro-Anticipation/Reaction Guide (make sure you have PART ONE completed by Fri 2/28;
we will complete PART TWO after reading the play)

-Must follow the requirements of the Petrarchan or Shakespearean sonnet (see notes from last week—specific rhyme
scheme and 14 lines)
-Subject of sonnet is YOUR choice as long as school appropriate
-Must LABEL the rhyme scheme at the end of each line (ABBA, etc.)
-Must include the use of 3 different additional literary devices (simile, metaphor, imagery, onomatopoeia, symbol,
alliteration, assonance, personification, etc.). After the sonnet, LIST the literary devices used and underline them in your
sonnet—make sure you highlight or label each device
