Nov. 1998) 3 Assessments: Purpose is to help improve our knowledge, understanding and application of the gospel. **Assessment #1 – What is the result of the Fall and how did Jesus Christ overcome it through the Atonement? Apply: What are some of the ways we can show our love and appreciation for Christ and his overcoming the effects of the Fall? **Assessment #2 – Explain the events and doctrines that took place in the garden and on the cross. Apply: Knowing what Jesus voluntarily did for us on the cross and in the garden, how are you going to use these acts of love to bless your life and the lives of those you love and associate with? **Assessment #3 – What is faith in Jesus Christ? What challenges and obstacles can be helped and overcome by having faith in Christ? Apply: How has your testimony of the Savior deepened and your faith in him increased because of your study and exercising your faith? INSTITUTE GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS Institute of Religion Graduation Diploma: 14 credit hours required: 8 credits in 4 Cornerstone courses plus 6 elective credits * Repeated courses do not fulfill requirements The 4 Cornerstone courses (each class is 2 credits): The Eternal Family (200) Foundations of the Restoration (225) Jesus Christ and the Everlasting Gospel (250) Teachings of the Book of Mormon (275) At the end of each semester, earned diplomas will be mailed to the student’s bishop, who will then present the award to the student at an appropriate time.
