UIC Medical Center!! 2005-2012 New and Diverse Experience ! • EMR- first exposure • Out-patient clinic/ In-patient adult medicine • Clinical research using EMR • Medical Students-Ambulatory Site Director, evaluations, letters of recommendation, advising, remediation, Student Run Clinic, • IM Residency- recruitment, evaluations, supervision Changes in Personal Life 2010 • Began to rethink career that was heavily clinical medicine • Growing practice associated with increasing paperwork, documentation and time requirements, increasing regulatory demands • Husband decided to semi-retire and wanted to have more flexibility in schedule Corporate Job 2011-2012 • Accretive Health- Consulting Job- Chart reviews and summaries, analyze admission criteria and admission status • Improved computer skills, data mining, learned about business side of medicine • Used clinical skills but no direct patient contact Masters Degree in Public Policy National Louis University – Chicago 2011-2012 • Improved foundation in government, social studies and political issues • Improved writing skills including proposals, grants and reports of all kinds • Learned approach to policy making Program Director, Internal Medicine Residency, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign June 2012-present I’M BACK !!!
