MINUTES OF PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUP
HELD ON TUESDAY 24th November 2015
AT INVERKEITHING SURGERY

MATTERS DISCUSSED
1.Minutes from previous meeting 27th October 2015
Practice Website – Website is ready to go live.
Information leaflets at both surgeriesDiana has confirmed one leaflet holder will be purchased and a second one at
a later date.
2. Constitution amendment.
This was agreed to be discussed at our December meeting due to time
restrictions.
3. National Care Standards Review
George Cuthill from the Scottish Health Council attended the meeting to
discuss the group member’s views on the new review. He had a list of
questions on how we, as patients, expect to be treated when using a health
service. This generated a good discussion within the group. A copy of the
questions is attached to the minutes.

4. Practice update.
The digital dictation trial will commence on the 18th January 2016 for 1 month.
The new check in monitors has been ordered for Dalgety Bay and will take 6
weeks to be delivered.
4000 flu vaccines have so far been administrated. 74% of over 65 years
population have been vaccinated to date.
Online booking registration has increased. 73 pre-registration PINs had to be
destroyed as left uncollected.
In October there were:209 DNAs
35 Cancel appointments using the text message system
4505 GP consultations
989 UCP consultations
6381 Nurse consultations
1780 HCP consultations
5. AOB.
Chris brought to the group examples of patient self-management leaflets,
which are used for coping with pain. This type of leaflet would be useful for a
patient self-management library
The meeting closed at 8.20 pm.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday 15th December 2015 at 6.30 pm at
Inverkeithing Surgery.

The Review of the Scottish National Care Standards has begun.
We now want your views on the overarching principles that will form the basis of
these standards.
These standards will apply to all health and social care settings across Scotland.
The principles written from the perspective of people who use health, care and
support services, using a Human Rights based approach. A Human Rights based
approach is one which empowers people to know what they are entitled to and
ensures that this is integrated into their day to day care and support.
We are also interested in your views on how we put these principles into practice.
Everyone should have high quality services and have a positive experience. We
want everyone's views so we get it right and make this happen.
On the following pages you will see all the principles. Please let us know what you
think about each one.
This consultation is open from 26 October 2015 – 10 December 2015.
