EE 420L – ANALOG INTEGRATED CIRCUIT DESIGN LABORATORY CATALOG DATA Applications and study of modern electronic analog and digital circuits. Advanced instrumentation. Credits 1 Offered spring semester PREREQUISITES AND/OR COREQUISITES Co requisite: EE 420 Prerequisite: EE 320L TEXTBOOK(s) No textbook required COORDINATORS Dr. Yahia Baghzouz Dr. R. Jacob Baker Dr. Yingtao Jiang Dr. Peter Stubberud TOPICS Laboratory measurements of circuits including scope probes, op-amps, diodes, transistor amplifiers, and analog integrated circuits. COURSE OUTCOMES After completing EE 420 students will be able to: 1. understand how probing influences a circuit (1.4, 1.7) [1,2] 2. identify and explain the limitations of op-amps in analog circuit designs (1.4, 1.7, 1.8, 1.9, 1.10, 1.12) [1,2] 3. identify the currents, and how they change with applied potentials, flowing through a semiconductor, diode, and transistor (1.4, 1.7, 1.9, 1.10, 1.12) [1,2] 4. design and simulate transistor amplifiers (1.8, 1.9, 1.10, 1.12) [1,2] 5. use SPICE verify hand calculations and aid in the design of analog integrated circuits (1.11) [1,2] COMPUTER USAGE Students use SPICE to create, simulate, and analyze electronic circuits. Lab reports will be published online using html GRADING Quizzes, lab reports, and a final project are used for grading assessment. ABET COURSE OUTCOMES 1.
