Mission Statement
Enhanced Retail Solutions’ objective is to simplify and expedite the art of Business Analysis, leading to greater sales,
increased profit, and improved inventory productivity.
EXPERIENCE
Enhanced Retail Solutions (ERS) collectively has well over 100 years of retail buying, store management and consulting
experience across many verticals including apparel, accessories, home textile, home décor, furniture, housewares, toys,
jewelry, cosmetics/HBA, consumer packaged goods, shoes, hard goods/home improvement, crafts, grocery, retail, food and
licensing.
AREA OF SPECIALIZATION
 Streamlining retail sell through analysis with actionable results through the integration of domain expertise, outside data
- such as market studies, geographics, demographics, weather - and software.
 Optimizing wholesale inventory and retail distribution to maximize sales, profits and productivity.
 Assisting introduction of new brands and products at retail based upon creative and analytical concepts.
 Business Intelligence and custom software applications for retailers and manufacturers.
 Sourcing and Production Planning software to create and manage forecasts from country and supplier level down to
the program and item level.
RECENT HISTORY HIGHLIGHTS
2014-2015:
 ERS helps 4,000+ store chain resolve forecast and replenishment issues with consulting and software.
 ERS adds support for almost 20 foreign retailers and currency conversion in its reporting.
 Bed Bath and Beyond Director of Planning asserts that ERS assisted program is the best roll out in 20 years. The
facilitated collaboration offers mutual benefit of consistency to BBB and more accurate forecasts for manufacturer in a
very cost and staff efficient manner.
 ERS creates multi-input Retail Replenishment Software module that ingests POS data; combines it with sales
curves (seasonality) or flat curves, space constraints and priorities to the store locations.
 ERS creates management tool that allows the tracking of e-commerce traffic, revenue and average order value on a daily
basis to enable companies to test different email marketing, social media and web promotion tactics so as to channel their
money and marketing into what is working.
2013:
 ERS adds multiple portal fields as well as customizable fields to its ad hoc Retail Analytic Software.
 GXS and InterTrade Systems joint ventures offer the set up and delivery of EDI 852 POS documents.
 Planalytics joint venture marries weather data with ERS’ POS analysis engine.
 ERS signs up major Licensor to use POS software to track largest Licensees’ business at top retailers.
 ERS consulting enables an inner wear company to lower their wholesale inventory from 400,000 units to 80,000 units
while staying in stock on a replenishment program for a top 10 retailer.
 Small retailers begin to subscribe to Retail Synthesis to enhance reporting from their POS Systems.
2012:
 Using best of breed market analysis and business intelligence platform ERS helps a tier one publisher review and
define its brand strategy, opportunities and successes with respect to retail initiatives.
 ERS consulting team deepens its Lowe's expertise: developing reports for a major rep that blows away Lowes
buyers and developing pipeline reports to facilitate better wholesale inventory forecasting.
 ERS branches out to grocery chains, applying the retail discipline of Walmart to address store execution and to drive
reorders. Using analytics rather than in store merchants saves significant dollars for client.
 ERS develops customized cloud based platform to streamline process of strategic sourcing plans for a top five retailer that
documents, plans and tracks process from buyer’s shopping list to factory production.
 ERS adds ability to combine retail dollars (AUR) with POS 852 EDI data lacking that information.

2011:
 ERS releases new BI tool, Retail Synthesis, as both in house software and Software as a Subscription.
 ERS consulting enables a leading brand denim supplier to save $100,000+ in markdown dollars.
 ERS analysis of business helps major supplier to Walmart increase sales 46% and increase Net
Maintained Margin Dollars by 55% in less than one year helping them become a Category Manager.
2010:
 A top three retailer uses ERS POS tracking, store ranking and mapping feature to identify over one
million dollars of freight cost savings by tailoring shipping from different warehouses.
 Consumer Product companies help determine marketing spends using sales history and demographics.
 ERS consulting and analytics enables a top jeans company to achieve a 30% store execution improvement
in two weeks by bringing non-executing doors to buyer's attention at Macy’s. ERS analysis and strategy
leads to additional tactical initiatives that lead to a 10%, then 20% margin improvement.
 ERS adjusts traiting to help push an additional 150,000 units for home textile client at
Walmart. 2009:
 Director Merchandise Operations at Target acknowledges that “It is important for vendors to help manage
the business” and that ERS “has the proven ability to help vendors” in that effort.
 ERS software's detailed view of store level inventory and sales shows how under planned a program
was, enabling the supplier to collaborate with the buyer to get all stores to set product and write a
million dollar reorder within the first 2 weeks of program.
 Interactive forecasting tool exposes a 12,000 unit/$720,000 sales opportunity at Bed Bath & Beyond
while flowing out the receipts more effectively saves $10,000 in freight, warehouse and handling costs.
 ERS helps client increase its Instock level at Walmart from 85% to 98%, generating an additional $1.5 million
in sales.
 Bed Bath and Beyond starts recommending ERS to their vendors to help them with their new
Collaborative Forecasting Initiative.
2008:
 Director of apparel strategy for Walmart tells client he is “completely blown away at the level of detail.”
 Two buying departments at Sam’s Club set ERS reporting method and layout as department standards.
 Sears invites ERS client to review their Back to School programs to make them more productive.
 JCPenney and CVS recommend ERS to their vendors to help their buyers manage the
business.
2007:
 ERS helps a client survive the narrowing of vendors at Walmart. Their business has since grown ten-fold.
 DMM at Target tells client: “We appreciate that you have studied our business more than other vendors
and even more than we have.”
 ERS software exposes a flaw in Kmart’s replenishment system, revealing 200 doors at Kmart that were sold
out. The buyer acts on it with a $200,000 reorder.
2003 - 2006:
 Using ERS facilitates a $27 million launch for an apparel client at a top 5 retailer.
 An $11,000 consulting project with a toy company generates $250,000 of additional business with one retailer
in less than 5 months.
 ERS begins record of saving apparel companies an average of $65,000/season in markdown dollars.
 ERS demographic profiling program convinces a major retailer to test a new program. That program has
become a $40+ million dollar/year business.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Retail Merchant Class
C.E.O. Jim Lewis teaches half-day public and customized courses providing manufacturers and licensors a detailed
perspective of the retail climate, best practices and issues of the retail giants. Attendees have included companies
as large as Kellwood, Oxford Industries, HIT Entertainment and United Media.
