NewSchool of Architecture and Design 2015-2016 Catalog Addendum Effective October 2015 The information contained in this addendum supplements or replaces information found in the 2015/2016 catalog. The following changes reflect current information about NewSchool of Architecture and Design. The NewSchool of Architecture and Design Catalog 2015-2016 is in effect from 10/1/15 to 10/1/16. Any changes to catalog content during this time will be noted on addenda posted on the NSAD website catalog page. Accreditations (page 9) NewSchool is approved by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education, under the California Department of Consumer Affairs. This means NewSchool is in compliance with the standards set forth by to the California Private Postsecondary Education Act (CPPEA) of 2009, which is effective January 1, 2010. Under Section 94802(a) of CPPEA. Therefore, non-U.S. citizens are required to demonstrate English proficiency. Distance Education (page 65) NewSchool of Architecture and Design programs and courses are of high quality and studentcentered regardless of modality of delivery. NSAD expects reasonable response times from all instructors. Specifically, mailed responses or evaluations of written material, such as papers, assignments, projects, etc. will be sent no later than one week after receipt if assignments are requested through the mail and are postmarked by the expected due date. Licensing Requirements for Licensure (page 86 for B.Arch.; page 119 for M.Arch.) Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture licensure programs are required to meet all licensure requirements as outlined by the California Architects Board http://www.cab.ca.gov/candidates/becoming_a_licensed_architect/. Facilities and Equipment (Under Academic information, page 57) Students at NewSchool of Architecture and Design study in classrooms and studios designed to promote collaborative, integrative learning in a professional environment. Learning spaces at NSAD meet or exceed expectations of professional guidelines. Students have access to equipment and materials unique to their programs of study.
