Path to Success!
SMC offers a wide range of campus and teaching resources programs that can help our students
and faculty achieve a high level of success both on and off campus. SMC seeks to provide
students and faculty with the necessary resources to foster academic inquiry and to ensure a
healthy social and intellectual environment as the foundation for that learning. Resources of
interest to Teaching Assistants, in their capacity as instructors and as students, are listed in this
section.
SMC provides training and resources to improve teaching, including supporting faculty and
Teaching Assistants as they devise new courses and develop enriching out-of-class activities.
Instructors are encouraged to find opportunities to define, practice, and advance their disciplines,
in addition to interdisciplinary collaborative work. SMC offers seminars and lectures throughout
the semester on a variety of topics.
The Center for Academic Support provides specialized tutoring in all subjects for students at the
university. Students are required to complete an online Tutor Request Form to initiate the
process of selecting an appropriate tutor and arranging for a tutoring session.
