Food Vending for a residential and business based clientele in the heart Detroit’s Downtown Campus Martius Park. Food Vending will take place on Cadillac Square, located between Woodward Avenue and Bates Street. Marketing – generate awareness of your food establishment and drive traffic into your restaurant. Marketing opportunities include: the option to distribute promotional materials at your booth (i.e., coupons, giveaways, etc.), the chance to make live TV and radio appearances, and the opportunity to participate in media interviews. WHO MAY PARTICIPATE? Each applicant must be a fully licensed and insured food sales operation whose primary function is the preparation and sale of food for consumption on its permanent premises or off-site in legally- 2015 FOOD VENDOR APPLICATION recognized and commercially-zoned locations or Catering companies, licensed food trucks and other food operations with service experience. Any applicant company may be asked for a comprehensive sampling of menu offerings by the Food Committee and also may be asked for references from clients that have used applicant for larger scale events. Applicants must submit their food establishment menu with their applications so that the Food Committee can facilitate their menu selections. WHAT ARE THE OPTIONS FOR PARTICIPATION? Restaurants and concessionaires will have a variety of locations on the site. Participants will be expected to be open all hours and days of the Program. Please mark on the application your availability. Restaurant booth: Participants will have a 10’ x 10’ hut, plus access to a fenced outside cooking area, Total area is 10’ x 20’ OR Food Truck location inside Cadillac Square. Food Truck applicants must include dimensions. Oversized trucks or those requiring special accommodations must specify on application. WHAT DOES THE PROGRAM COST? The Downtown Street Eats Program weekly cost is as follows: March 30th – May 29th $250/week June 1st – August 28th $300/week August 31st – October 16th $250/week Plus applicable business license and health department fees. WHAT DOES THE PROGRAM EXPECT FROM PARTCIPANTS? The Downtown Street Eats Program provides restaurant participants with information geared towards creating a successful partnership between the Program and each restaurant. Each restaurant will be required to adhere to our Rules and Regulations, to complete necessary paperwork, provide weekly sales survey data and to cooperate in every way with Management. We appreciate your cooperation and will do everything we can to make your participation a success. Just as it is in your food establishment, the safety and happiness of our guests, participants and staff is always our first concern. WHAT THE SUMMER TIME FOOD VENDING PROGRAM PROVIDES EACH PARTICIPANT? Food Hut Only: o 10’ x 10’ HUT provided and installed by the Program. o General overhead lighting for the 10 x10 Booth (one bulb) o Tables – two (2) eight-foot prep/serving tables. o Refrigerator o One (1) 20-amp/110-volt electrical o One (1) overhead sign listing Vendor’s name Food Truck Only: o Footprint for truck o Two (2) 20-amp/110-volt electrical Food Vendor Orientation Meeting (REQUIRED FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS). A Summer Food Vending Program representative will act as liaison with the Health Division and Fire Department and will assist in general consulting to help choose menu items, determine prices, lay out stands and plan staffing. 2015 FOOD VENDOR APPLICATION SAMPLE RULES & REGULATIONS Accepted participants may sell non-alcoholic beverages. Park sponsor Absopure (water) or other beverages (TBD) must be used if selling. Participants must adhere to deadlines for submitting applications, paperwork, and fee payments. Failure to meet deadlines will result in the disqualification of a participant from the 2015 Downtown Street Eats Program. Accepted participants and their employees must maintain the highest degree of cleanliness and professionalism in their booths and on the Summer Vending Program grounds at all times. Accepted participants are responsible for providing any and all necessary equipment for their operation. All equipment must meet Wayne County, Michigan, safety and health standards. Recycling is a vital part of the Summer Vending Program. Use of recyclable or compostable serving products is mandatory. Booth locations will be assigned by management to ensure a variety of menu choices at different locations within the site and in the best interest of the Program and the participant. The Downtown Detroit Partnership are committed to making your food establishment thrive! We will: Surround the food vendor program with lively activities such as games, music that drive foot traffic. Provide colorful and comfortable chairs, tables, and umbrellas to enhance the experience for customers. Advertise the food-vending program to all the Park Sponsors to share with their Downtown employees. List the weekly food vendors on the Campus Martius Park website.
