On Purpose, recorded at Black’s studio in Nashville compiles a strikingly diverse group of selfproduced songs. He has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide and charted nearly two dozen #1 singles and has earned his place as one of the most successful artists in Country music history. McAnally’s depth as an artist is no secret within the recording community. Born in Alabama, raised on church choirs and formal lessons, playing pro gigs at 13, McAnally tutored on the mysteries of session excellence at the historic Muscle Shoals Studios. He was an essential ingredient on studio dates with Linda Ronstadt, Dolly Parton, George Strait, George Jones, Billy Joel and many others. In 2008 he won the CMA Award for Musician of the Year and since, he’s written No. 1 hits for Kenny Chesney, Alabama, Sawyer Brown and Shenandoah. McAnally is a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Rob Blackledge, Noll Billings and Jeff Coplan moved to Nashville as songwriters and hooked up with Nashville’s talented and in demand drummer Brad Cummings. They were soon pulled towards one another in the town’s tight-knit music community. Blackjack Billy was formed and their signature hybrid of country and rock led to the group’s breakout hit “The Booze Cruise” in 2013. They play close to 130 shows a year across the U.S. and Canada and the magic is evident every time they take to the stage. “Live From Blackbird” has featured performances from Hunter Hayes, as well as Parmalee, Eli Young Band, Joe Nichols, Love and Theft, John Butler Trio and more. It is produced and directed by Stokes Nielson. Butch Waugh and Jay Frank serve as strategic advisors for the show. CONTACT: Paul Freundlich PFA paulf@pfamedia.net
