You and a partner will be exploring government offices whose leaders are members of the President’s Cabinet. These departments make up the bureaucracy.

What are the 7 positions that have status of cabinet rank?
Choose 6 of the main Departments that you and your partner have some interest in.
For each of these departments, answer the following questions:

Name the Department.
2.
Who is the current Secretary/ head of this department?
3.
What is the purpose/ mission/ or charge of this department?
4.
Read through current events listed on the website. Pick one and summarize it in at least five sentences.
5.
After reading through the cabinet website, what do you think the priority of this department is?
6.
What was one additional fact/ surprise you learned about this department from the website?
Word process your responses and turn in one paper per group. Now go on to
Executive Command (Below).
: You are going to get a chance to play the role of a President. Upon completing this game you will have a better understanding as to the various “hats” that a President must wear during the course of a four-year term in office. You will receive points for correct decisions and choices as the game progresses. Good luck and enjoy learning about the top position in the Executive Branch.

Proceed through the simulation. You will acquire points as you progress through the game. It should take you 20-30 minutes to complete the simulation.
6.
Keep track of your total electoral votes at the conclusion of the game.
7.
Complete the Journal Entry.
