Hadoop is designed to scale up from single servers to thousands of machines, each providing computation and storage. Rather than rely on hardware to deliver high-availability, the framework itself is designed to detect and handle failures at the application layer, thus delivering a highly-available service on top of a cluster of computers, each of which may be prone to failures. MSS – Hortonworks Hadoop Services provides clients with skills and capabilities around the installation configuration and ongoing administration of an onpremises or cloud based Hadoop infrastructure. Functional elements MSS would administer Hadoop services, changes configurations and manage ongoing growth of a Hadoop Cluster.
