What’s Been Happening in ………….. Rosen Class Rosen class have had a very exciting week learning about the Egyptians. In literacy we have been working really hard on creating our own versions of the Egyptian Cinderella. We had to create stories using paragraphs and thinking carefully about vocabulary choices. Our challenge was to create exciting storylines thinking carefully about the settings and characters we created. We came up with some fantastic stories and Mrs Hemsworth was very impressed! “I had fun writing our own Egyptian Cinderella story and changing the characters.” Summer “I had an incredible lesson learning how to write a story.” Marinella In Forest School, we learnt that the Egyptians made salt dough decorations so we had a go at it for ourselves. First we had to put salt and flour into a bowl and then we slowly added water. “In Forest School I loved making salt dough decorations. I made an ankh and a pyramid. I had a lovely time doing it and I cannot wait to paint it.” Saskia “We made Egyptian decorations. I made a pyramid. We made our own salt dough. We had to add a secret ingredient!” Ellis B In Geography we were busy comparing the differences between Egypt and England. We now know that Egypt is more than 90% desert and incredibly hot. Whereas England is mainly flat and very wet. “I hope I get to visit Egypt one day as I now know that Egypt is one of the hottest countries in the world.” Anita We are looking forward to learning lots more about the Egyptians over the next few weeks! Big Schools’ Birdwatch We are taking part in the RSPB ‘Big School’s Birdwatch’ this year. We will be looking but the builders might frighten a few away!!
