Central Coast Community Women’s Health Centre was founded in 1976 and is a non-profit community based organisation that runs three centres, the main one being at Wyoming and two outreach centres – one at Wyong known as Northern Women’s

Health Centre or Rose Cottage and one at the Woy Woy known as the Peninsula

Women’s Health Centre.

The Central Coast Community Women’s Health Centre works to fulfil the right of all women to health services of high quality that are provided in an appropriate and empowering manner. The centre aims to provide holistic programs that focus on community wellbeing, resourcing women and their families to maintain healthy lifestyles, relationships and sense of purpose.

At our Wyoming Centre we run a women’s gynaecological clinic run by female general practitioners. Our Peninsula Centre offers a Women’s Health Clinic in partnership with Central Coast Local Health Network. All our centres offer a variety of services for women including counselling, groups and workshops (self-help, lifestyle, therapeutic, community education, general health) alternative therapies (massage and acupuncture). There are also special purpose groups, including Wrap with Love,

Multicultural Craft and Conversation Group, Walking group and Book Club. The

Northern Women’s Health Centre also provides a legal service in partnership with

Legal Aid.

About the Board

Current Board Size: 4 to 7

Board meetings (frequency): Third Tuesday morning of each month (Monthly)

Board Meetings held 9am for 9.30am start – 12:30pm

Venue: Wyoming Centre; plus two per year at Woy Woy centre and two at the Wyong

Centre.

Duration: 3 hours

CCCWHC is seeking new board members. CCCWHC aims for a skills based board and has, through analysis and self-assessment identified specific skill sets that would

bring value to the organisation as it enters a new phase of growth. The areas of expertise being sought are:

Legal

Financial

As a Director you will play a critical role in the strategic leadership of the organisation alongside existing Board members, the Manager and senior team.

The role:

will provide advice and expertise on matters of strategy and compliance as well as the monitoring, evaluation and review of the organisation’s programs and performance.

Will involve positively representing and promoting the organisation, its programs and its services to stakeholders, including government, philanthropic organisations and donors.

To be considered for this role you will need:

to have the skills to communicate and work collaboratively with other board members and the senior team in a constructive, challenging and supportive manner.

to have the capacity to utilise networks and contacts to increase the organisation’s standing.

to be a critical and innovative thinker.
