HISTORY OF THE COLLEGE
This college was started by the efforts of the then collector of North Arcot
District Thiru.V.M.BELLIAPPA, I.A.S. and also donations from the philanthropists of
this District and the support extended by the people interested in the upliftment of
rural womenfolk. Due to the efforts put in by this committee, the land in the outskirts
of Walajapet town to the extent of 40 acres was secured in the Chennai, Bangalore
National Highway (No.4). In the initial stage this college was started in the Walajapet,
Government Girls Higher School in July 1968. The foundation for the college
Building was laid by the then Education Minister Thiru.V.R.NEDUNCHEZHIAN, and
the college building was laid by the then Chief Minister Dr.kalaignar,
M.KARUNANIDHI on 13.06.1969. This college was named after the late Chief
Minister Perarignar Anna.
This institution started with a strength of 115 women students in P.U.C. In the
second year of its existence, (with effect from 1969) the college was upgraded to an
undergraduate college with the introduction of B.A. History and it was followed by
B.Sc Mathematics in the third year (with effect from 1970). In the year 1972 – 73,
B.Sc Zoology and in 1973 – 74, B.A Tamil Literature, and B.Sc Chemistry were
started in 1980 – 1981, B.Sc Botany, in 1985 – 86, B.Com in 1990 – 91, B.Sc
Computer Science courses were started. In 1998 - 99, B.A. Economics were started
and M.A Tamil Literature. From the Academic Year 2004 – 2005, M.A Economics on
self-finance basis was introduced with a sanctioned strength of 20 students and it
has been regularized.
This college which had a student strength of 668 in 1974 – 75 had risen to
1800 in the year 2002-2003 and has a current strength of 1600 students. From the
academic year 2007 – 2008 on wards Shift – II system was introduced with B.A
Tamil, B.Com, B.Sc Mathematics, B.Sc Botany, B.Sc Zoology, B.Sc Chemistry and
B.Sc Computer Science.
In the year 2013-14, B.Sc Physics, B.A English, B.B.A, B.Com Corporate
secretaryship, and B.C.A were started. In the same year M.Com, M.Sc Mathematics,
M.Sc Botany, M.Sc Zoology, M.Sc Chemistry, M.Com and M.A History were started
functioning. Research courses M.Phil Economics, Computer Science and Zoology
were introduced in 2014 – 2015. Now the college has a current strength of 3468
students.

commitment to excellence.

CHOICE BASED CREDIT SYSTEM (CBCS)
REGULATIONS
CBCS
Choice-Based Credit System is a flexible system of learning ‘Credit’ defines
the quantum of contents / syllabi prescribed for a course and determines the number
of hours of instruction required. The distinguishing features of CBCS are the
following:
It permits the students to:
 Learn at their own pace
 Choose electives from a wide range of elective course offered by the
department of the affiliated colleges.
 Undergo additional courses and acquire more than the required
number of credits
 Adopt an inter – disciplinary approach in learning.
 Make best use of the expertise of available faculty.
1. Duration:
a. Each academic year shall be divided into two semesters. The First
academic year shall comprise the first and second semester, the
second academic year the third semester and fourth semesters.
b. The odd semesters shall consist of the period from June to November
of each year and the even semesters from December to April of each
year. There shall be not less than 90 working days for each semester.
2. Course of study:
The main subject to study for Bachelor Degree Courses shall consist of the
following:

PART – III Core Subject
Allied Subject
Projects / Electives with three courses
PART –IV

(A) Those who have not studied Tamil up to XII Std. and taken a NonTamil Language under part –I shall take Tamil comprising of two courses (level will
be at 6th standard)
(B) Those who have studied Tamil up to XII Std. and taken a NonTamil Language under part –I shall take Advanced Tamil Comprising of two courses.
(C) Others who do not come under A / B can choose non – major
elective comprising of two courses.

SKILL BASED SUBJECTS (ELECTIVE):
Four courses are to be offered. The Papers are to be accommodated in
the second / third year of study for UG courses.

3. Extension Activities:
A Candidate shall be awarded a maximum of I Credit for Compulsory Extension
Service.
All the students shall have to enroll for NSS/NCC/NSO (Sports and Games)
Rotract / Youth Red Cross or any other service organization in the college and shall
have to put in compulsory minimum attendance of 40 hours which shall be duly
certified by the Principal of the College before 31st March in a Year. If a student
Lacks 40 hours attendance in the First Year, he / she shall have to compensate the
same during the subsequent years.
Students those who complete minimum attendance of 40 hours in one year will
get Half Credit and those who complete the attendance of 80 or more hours in two
years will get ONE CREDIT.
Literacy and population Education Field Work shall be compulsory components in
the above extension service activities.

4. Requirements for proceeding to subsequent Semester:
(i)
Candidates shall register their names for the First semester
Examination after admission in the UG Courses.
(ii)
Candidates shall be permitted to proceed for the First Semester up to
Final Semester irrespective of their failure in any of the Semester Examination
subject to the Condition that the candidates should register for all the arrear subject
of earlier Semesters along the current (subsequent) Semester subjects.
(iii)
Candidates shall be eligible to go to subsequent semester, only if they
earn sufficient attendance as prescribed there for by the Syndicate from time to time.
Provided in case of a candidate earning less than 65% of attendance in any one of
the semester due to any extraordinary circumstances such as medical grounds, such
candidates such as medical grounds, such candidates who shall produce Medical
Certificate issued by the Authorized Medical Attendant (AMA), duly certified by the
Principal of the College, shall be permitted to proceed to the next semester and
complete the course of study. Such candidates shall have to repeat the missed
semester by rejoining after completion of Final semester of the course, after paying
the fee for the break of study as prescribed by the University form time to time.
5. Requirements to take the University Examinations
a. A candidate will be permitted to take the University Examination of any
semester if.
i. He / She secure not less than 75% of attendance out of the 30 instructional
days during the semester.
(In the case of married women students the minimum attendance requirement shall
be 55% of the total Instructional days.)
ii. He / She earns a progress certificate from the head of the institution, of having
satisfactorily completed the prescribed course of study in the subjects as required by
these regulations, and
iii. His/ Her conduct has been satisfactory.
Provided that it shall be open to the syndicate or any authority delegated Provided

the syndicate to grand exemption to a candidate who has failed to earn 75% of the
attendance prescribed for any valid reasons(s) subject to the usual conditions.
b. A candidate who has secured attendance less than 75% but 65% and above
shall be permitted to take the Examination on the recommendation of the Head of
the Institution to condone the lack of attendance as well as on the payment of the
prescribed fees to the University
c. A candidate who has secured attendance less than 65% but 55% and above
In any semester, has to compensate the shortage of attendance in the subsequent
semester besides, earning the required percentage of attendance in that semester
and take the Examination of both the semester papers together at the latter
semester.
d. A candidate who has secured less than 55% of attendance in any Semester
will not be permitted to take the regular Examination. He / She has to re-do the
Course after the completion of the final semesters by rejoining the semester in which
the attendance is less than 55%.
e. A candidate who has secured less than 55% of attendance in the final
semester has to compensate his / her attendance shortage in a manner to be
decided by the Head of the Department concerned after rejoining the Course.
6. Passing Minimum:
A candidate shall be declared to have passed the whole examination, if he /
she passes in all the papers and prescribed / as per the Scheme of Examinations
earning 140 CREDITS in Parts I, II, III, IV and V. He / She shall also fulfill the
extension activities prescribed earning one credit to qualify for the Degree.
In fixing the passing minimum marks, the following will be observed:
a. There shall be no Passing Minimum for Internal.
b. For External Examination, Passing Minimum shall be of 40% (Forty
percentages) of the maximum marks prescribed for the paper for each paper/
Practical/ Project and Vivo – voce.
c. In the aggregate (External + Internal) the passing minimum shall be 40%
Grading:
Once the Marks of the CIA and end-semester examinations for each of the
course are available. They will be added . the marks thus obtained will then be
graded as per details given below.

7. Classification of Successful Candidate:
PART – 1 TAMIL / OTHER LANGUAGES:
Successful candidates passing Examination for the language and
securing the marks (i) 60 percent and above and (ii) 50 percent and above but below
60 percent in the aggregate shall be declared to have passed the examination in the
First and Second Class, respectively. All other successful candidates shall be
declared to have passed the examination in Third Class.
PART – II ENGLISH
Successful candidates passing Examination for English and securing
the marks (i) 60 percent and above and (ii) 50 percent and above but below 60
percent in the aggregate shall be declared to have passed the examination in the
First and Second Class, respectively. All other successful candidates shall be
declared to have passed the examination in Third Class
PART – III Consisting of CORE SUBJECTS, ALLIED SUBJECTS,
PROJECT / ELECTIVES:
Successful candidates passing Examination for Core Courses together and
securing the marks (i) 60 percent and above and (ii) 50 percent and above but below
60 percent in the aggregate of the marks prescribed for the Core courses together
shall be declared to have passed the examination First and Second Class,
respectively. All other successful candidates shall be declared to have passed the
examination in Third Class
PART – IV (consisting of sub items 1(a), (b) and (c), 2,3 and 4) as furnished in
the regulations 4 PART – IV supra.
PART – V EXTENTION ACTIVITIES:
The only credit earned for PART – V Extension Activities of a
successful candidates SHALL, NOT BE taken into consideration for classification /
Ranking / Distinction.
8. RANKING:
Candidates who pass all the Examinations prescribed for the course in the
First Appearance itself alone or are eligible for Ranking / Distinction;
Provided in the case of Candidates who pass all the Examinations prescribed
for the course with a break in the First appearance due to the reasons as furnished
in the Regulations 7. (iii) supra are eligible for classification / Distinction.
The marks obtained in improvement examination will not be taken in to consideration
for Ranking.
9. THE MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION AND EXAMINATIONS
The medium of instruction and Examinations for the papers under Part I and II
shall be in the language concerned. For part III, the medium of instruction and
Examinations shall be English / Tamil.
10. Submission Of Record Notebooks For Practical Examination:
Candidates taking the Practical Examinations should submit bonafide Record
Note books prescribed for the Practical Examinations otherwise the candidates will
not be permitted to take the Practical Examinations. However, in genuine case
where the students could not submit the Record note books may be permitted to
taken the practical Examinations provided the Head of the Department concerned
certifies that the candidate has performed the experiments prescribed for the
Course. For such of those candidates who do not submit Record Books, Zero (0)
marks will be awarded for record notebooks.In case a candidate fails in the Practical
Examinations the marks awarded for the record at the time of first appearance for
the Practical Examinations should be made available by the University to the
Examiner at the subsequent appearance by the candidate.
11. Improvement of marks in the subjects already passed:
Candidates desirous of improving the marks secured in a passed subject in
their First attempt shall reappear once within a period of subsequent two semesters.
The improved marks shall be considered for classification Distinction but not for
ranking. If there is no improvement there shall not be any change in the original
marks already awarded.
12. Additional Degree:
Any candidate who wishes to obtain any additional UG Degree not permitted
to take the Examinations only in part III by grating exemption from taking part I, II
Examinations and the common Allied subjects if any, already passed by the
candidate. A candidate desirous to obtain an additional UG Degree involving
practical’s shall be permitted to do so and such candidate shall join the college in the
2nd year of the course and He / She be permitted to take the Examination only in Part
III, by granting exemption from taking Part I, II Examinations and the common Allied
Subjects if any, already passed. Such candidates should obtain exemption from the
University by paying the prescribed fee, in force from time to time.
13. Evening College:
The above regulations shall be applicable to the candidates undergoing the
respective courses in the Evening Colleges also.

Procedures for securing Admission in the College
Women students who wish to join in this college have to submit the
Application to the Principal within ten days from the publication of Public Examination
Result. The cost of Application Form for B.A/B.Sc/B.Com is Rs.27 and the cost of
Application Form for M.A is Rs.42/- Students can obtain the Application Form and
prospectus by remitting the above Fees day with a Self-addressed and stamped
envelope.
Education Rules relation to Admission and withdrawal
1. The student wishing to join this college have to submit the Transfer
Certificate issued by College or School last studied. Admission will be
granted only after the submission of Transfer Certificate.
2. The Students admitted on the basis of false certificates will be dismissed
from the College besides the forfeiture of fees paid by them.
3. Students will be admitted only at the time of First Term.
4. If the Students fail to pay the First Installment fees at the time of
commencement of First Term, they will not be permitted to attend class.
Moreover those who join after the commencement of the Term will be
admitted only after remittance of Fees.
5. If the Students discontinuing the course during a term will not have any
right to claim reimbursement of any part of fees already paid the students
of SC / ST/ ADC/BC and MBC have to submit to the offices declaration for
90% attendance at the time of admission.
Discontinuing the study during the course
The student absenting herself from the class during the course should inform
within three months from the first date of absence. She should obtain transfer
certificate and conduct certificate within one year. If she applies for transfer
certificate and conduct certificate after one year, a fine of rupees.six will be collected
from her.
No Dues Certificate
The students who after completing the course wish to obtain transfer
certificate and conduct certificate, they have to be a obtain No Dues from the head of
the Department, library and office and submit the No Dues certificate.
No Dues Certificate should be enclosed with the application for issue of
transfer certificate and conduct certificate.
Copies of Transfer Certificate & Conduct Certificate
If the certificates are lost beyond recovery, the students can obtain copies of
transfer certificate and conduct certificate. A certificate to the effect that the
certificates are lost beyond recovery should be obtained from the Deputy Tahsildar
or a gazette officer not below the rank of Deputy Tahsildar and that Certificate should
be enclosed with the application for issue of duplicate copy of transfer Certificate and
conduct Certificate.
If duplicate copies of both transfer Certificate and conduct Certificate are
required a sum of Rupees Eight is to be collected and if either transfer Certificate or
conduct Certificate duplicate copy is required a sum of Rupees Four has to be paid
by the student.
Rules for Dress & Discipline
1. Students should attended the college in clean and decent clothes
2. Punctually and regularly should be maintained.
3. The students should occupy their respective seats in the class rooms well
in advance before the commencement of class and the ringing of the First
Bell.
4. Students should avoid standing at the college Entrance / Exit / Playground
/ Garden or any other passage.
5. As a token of Culture, Students should be respectful to their friends, coStudents and the staff members of the college and greet them in the
morning on seeing them for the First time in the day.
6. Late Students should stand outside the class room. Only after obtaining
permission from the Lecturer they should enter the class-room and can
ask for Attendance only after the class is over.
7. While moving from one class-room to another strict silence, Discipline and
proper timing should be maintained.
8. At the commencement and the close of the period, students should stand
and allow the lecturer to move freely.
9. While attending any college functions or any public functions, students
should behave properly and the reputation of the student community and
the college should be upheld.
10. The students should pay obeisance to the National Anthem whenever and
wherever it is played.
11. The students should not indulge in throwing plastic rubbish and spitting at
any spot as they wish. The Dust bin and spittoon should always be utilized
for these purposes. Similarly students should not indulge in shouting
indecently within the college campus.
12. The students should not enter the college office or the Teaching Staff
Room or in the Laboratories at unspecified time.
13. While handling the properties and articles of the college the utmost care
and responsibility should be exercised. If any damage to the college
properties or articles is caused either due to negligence or wantonly, in
addition to taking disciplinary action against the concerned students, the
cost of such properties will also be recorded from them.
14. Students should not alter the position of chairs in the class room
unnecessarily. If any damage is caused to them, penalty will be imposed
on the students who caused the damage. Students should protect the
property. If any damage occurs to college property, students should
immediately bring into the notice of the principal or a responsible person to
take appropriate action.
15. The college Buildings and its atmosphere should be well protected by the
students writing on the Wall, table and Black-board undesirable activities.
The students should maintain the cleanliness of the college.
Examinations
1. In addition to the class tests, all the students should appear in the
Examinations to be held at the end of the term.
2. The students should write such Examinations with out fail.
3. No students other than those who are unable to attend the college due to
illness will be exempted from writing the Examinations
4. During the time of Examinations, the leave application along with medical
certificate duly countersigned by the Mentor Lecturer concerned should be
submitted in person to the Head of Departments.
5. The students will be permitted to appear in the University Examinations on the
basis of marks obtained in the tests, attendance in the class and in the tests
and the conduct of the students. If any deficiency is observed in these, the will
not be allowed to appear in the University Examinations.
Attendance Rules
1. In an academic year, minimum number of working days should be 180 days.
2. Out of 180 days, the students who have attended the college for not less than
135 days (that is 75%) should along be permitted to appear in the University
Examinations held at the end of the year.
3. For those who have attended less than 135 days but not less than 117 days
(that is 65%) will be allowed to appear in the University Examinations after
they remit condo nation fees of Rs. 250/4. For those who have attended less than 117 days but not less than 90 days
(that is 50% to 65%) will be allowed to appear in the University Examinations.
Such students will be allowed to continue their studies in second and third
years in the subsequent academic year. If they remit Rs.250/- condo nation
fees they will be allowed to appear in September Examination in that year.
5. For those who have attended less than 90 days (less than 50%) Such
students will not be allowed to pursue second and third years of study. They
should rejoin in the same class and study in the subsequent year.
6. For science students, they should have separately attended the practical
classes for 75% for those who have attend for less than 75% the above
procedures will be adopted for University practical Examinations.

Attendance and Leave
The students should submit leave application to the principal well in advance.
No student will be allowed to absent herself from the class without submitting
leave application. If leave application could not be submitted due to
unavoidable circumstances, leave application should be submitted
immediately on the day of joining. Leave may be granted for valid reasons. If
necessary, medical certificate should be submitted.
The hostelites should submit their leave applications with the consent of the
deputy warden.
If a student’s absent herself from the class for any hour in a day without
submitting leave application such absence will be treated as absence for the
whole day.
No student will be allowed to enter the class room in the First hour of either
Forenoon or Afternoon, after the lecturer has started to take the class.
If the lecturer permits, the late comers can enter the class. Otherwise, such
students have to lose the attendance for the whole day.
The attendance certificate called for by the University for the University
Examinations will be issued subject to the following conditions.
a. The progress and conduct of the students should be satisfactory to the
principal.
b. Student should have attended ¾ of the total working days.
c. Similarly, students should obtained ¾ attendances in the games
period.
d. Student should have obtained ¾ attendances in the practical’s class.
Scholarships and fees Concessions
Scholarships:
Scholarships are given to the poor and meritorious students annually.
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of marks in Public Examinations and the
University Examinations. It will then issue till the completion of the course. The
Scholarships can be withdrawn at any point of time if there is any shortfall in
satisfactory conduct, character, attendance and the progress in study.

For the attention of students
1. The students willing to avail Scholarship should have 75% attendance.
Otherwise, no Scholarship will be given to them.
2. All Scholarship will be given by means of cheques. Hence the students are
advised to open a savings Bank account with any Bank.
Free Degree Education
1. “EVR NAGAMMAI MEMORIAL FREE DEGREE EDUCATION TO WOMEN
SCHEME”
The State Government have ordered that women students whose parents
annual income is less than Rs.24000/-per annum and who join in the First
Year of Degree (B.A/ B.Sc/ B.Com) in any of the Government colleges will be
provided Education Free of Cost.
2. As per the orders of the Governments, the Tamil Nadu students of MBC/ DNT
are eligible to avail fee concessions.
3. The SC/ ST/ Adi Dravider Converted Christian are exempted from paying
fees.
4. Tamil Medium Stipend:
All student studying in Tamil Medium are eligible to get Tamil Medium
stipend Rs.400/- per annum being disbursed in two installments of Rs.200/each. They should write the University Examination in Tamil only. Otherwise,
this stipend amount will be recovered from them.
The students in the above category (except the category No.3) should
complete their course, of study in 3 years. If the discontinue in the middle of
the course, the scholarship/concession availed by them will have to be
refunded.

The College Library is common to the Teachers and the students.
The Library will be kept open from 10.00 Am to 3.30 Pm on all working days.
Silence should be observed strictly in the Library. No deviation is desirable.
The books will be issued to the students subject to the following:
(a). Library Token should be produced and handed over while borrowing any
books from the Library.
(b). Each student will be given two books at a time.
© No Exchange of books among the students will be permitted.
(d) If the Library books are torn order lined by pen such actions liable for
penalty. If any student is found indulging in such activity, she will be fined any
will be instructed to replace the book with another one or will be imposed
both.
(e) Requisition for books by students will be entered in the register in the
Library. The books will be issued in the order of requisitions only.
(f) Generally, a student is allowed to retain a book for 7 days. If the last day
for return of books is a Holiday, then the next day may be considered as the
last day for return of book. The Holidays do not represent the Terminal
Holidays, Pongal Holidays and the summer vacation. Under such
circumstances, the books should be returned before the commencement of
such holidays.
(g) If a student fails to return the book on the specified day for return, she has
to pay a fine of ten paise per working day till the book is returned to the
Library. If the book is returned without payment of fine, that student will not be
allowed to utilize the Library till the fine is paid by her.
(h) While taking a book from Library, a student should ensure that the book is
in good condition. If the book is torn or damaged, it should be brought to the
notice of the Librarian immediately.
(i) While taking back the books from the students, if the book are found in a
damaged condition, the Librarian will bring into the notice of the principal.
(j) If the book is damaged or lost, in addition to the price of the book 25% of
the price of the books will also be collected.
5. News papers and magazines for the students should be handled very
carefully in the library.
6. Some books or indented for reference only nobody will be allowed to take
such books outside the library. The catalogue of reference books as available
with the librarian.
Laboratories
All the instruments and articles in the laboratories should be handled with
care. If any article is broken or lost, it should be brought to the notes of the lecturer
immediately. The price of the lost article or the broken articles will be collected from
the student.
College Hostel
A separate hostel is available for college students. The principal is the warden
and a Lecturer appointed by the principal will be the deputy warden and that deputy
warden is assisted by the Lecturers in charge of the hostel. The days of opening and
closing will be decided by the principal.
On the day of joining the Hostel, every student should pay the following fees:

The amount that will be due for the lost month of stay will be deducted from
the advance amount. The remaining amount will be refunded to the students. The
mass charges for the month should be paid within 10 days from the announcement
of mess charges for that month; failure to pay mess charges will entail that hostelite
from the removal of hostelities. Supply of the food to that hostelitie will be stopped.
The hostelitie paying the mess fees after the last date for payment will have to pay
fine for belated payment.
The hostelities should not interfere in the day-to-day work of hostel
employees. If any hostel employee commits mistakes, the fact should be reported to
the warden immediately. Students should not resort to solve the problems
themselves. The hostel student who damages the properties of hostel like furniture,
electrical installations should bear the cost of repair of such articles. In the case of
inability to trace real culprit, all the hostelities are liable to bear the cost of repair.
The college lecturers are not permitted to stay in the hostel. If any lecturers
are allowed to stay in the hostel she should abide by the rules and regulations of the
hostel. The warden is the authority to take only final decisions on all the matters
relating to the Hostel.
College Union
The object of college union is to analyse discuss and debate on any matters
relating to Arts, Education and general knowledge. All the students of this college are
members of the union. The office bearers of the Governing Council of the Union are
elected at the commencement of the academic year the students president and the
students secretaries of various associations are responsible for the smooth and
efficient conduct of all activities of the college.
Magazine
The college Magazine is published of the end of the academic year. The
Editorial committee of the Magazine consists of the Principal, the representatives of
the Teaching Staff and students representatives and this committee publishes the
magazine.
(Tutorial) Mentor System
Each student is entrusted to a specified Lecturer. The student can option
advice and suggestions from the Mentor. This Mentor will inform the principal on the
conduct and progress in study of the students concerned.
Co-Operative Store
The students can buy the required work-books, note-books and stationary
items from the Co-Operative Stores at concessional rates.
Physical Education
The Physical Education Department of this college has necessary facilities

National Cadets Corps (NCC)
The National Cadets Corps (NCC) inculcates in the minds of the budding
young generation of this country Discipline, Self – control, Friendship, Altruistic
Attitude and Leadership Qualities, since its inception in the Year 1973. This College
has 120 Students as Cadets in NCC. The NCC unite of this college continues the
tradition of NCC excellently.
The Degree students if they wish, they can join NCC and undergo necessary
training. But they should complete the training imparted in three years of study.
National Service Scheme (N.S.S)
The N.S.S was initiated by Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru the First Prime minister of
this Nation with the objectives of educating the Youth of this country with community
development activities. The youth should acquire knowledge not only from the Text
books they study but also acquire knowledge through the experience they undergo
while performing various social welfare activities.
The students are enrolled for N.S.S voluntarily.

Old Students Association (OSA)
On 13-01-1992, Arignar Anna Government Arts College for Women Old
student’s association was started by the former students of this college. In
accordance with the instructions of Commissioner Education Vide his letter
L.Dis.No.19927/4/92 dated,09-11-1992,this Association was formed with the
Principal of the college as The President Besides the President, 3 Vice-Presidents, 2
secretaries and Treasurer and another member were elected to constitute the
Executive Committee- keeping the Presidency college, Chennai as a role model. The
Principal is also an Ex-Officio Treasurer of the Committee. Besides these members,
one special Treasurer will also be there in the Executive Committee.

The General Body meeting of the Old students Association is held in December
every year.
The main objectives of this association are to act as a bridge between the
college and its old students, encourage the old students of the college to participate
in college sports and social functions, to assist the college Administration to disperse
Scholarships, awards prizes and to lend financial support to the welfare activities of
