MORE THAN 22 YEARS OF SERVICE TO HUMANITY
With the greatest festival of the year that spread light and excitement, prosperity and well
being to have just gone past by. There are newer energies in the air, to be explored and
pondered upon. Diwali brings about joy to each and everyone who hears the word Diwali,
such is the power of this occasion. Just like that we have humanity, mankind and friendship
that create our existence. And this definitely culminates to from Rotary. The Rotary Club of
Bombay Peninsula saw another leaf attached to its cap, The Official Club Visit(OCV). Its
indeed an honour and privilege to host the district and we did it really well. The club is
smoothly functioning but I am sure there is yet a lot of spark within us that can create
immense light.
A small story I share with all of you, read it and enjoy it, mostly importantly try taking
something back from it. We all have big toes and thumbs. And without our big toes, without
our thumbs, our accomplishments would be severely handicapped.
Toes provide balance. A function of the toes, especially the big toe, is to help us balance. A
table or chair cannot stand on two legs, but we humans can, and it's largely due to the
variable pressure we exert on our big toes. We use those all-important big toe muscles when
we walk, stoop, climb, or even stand. In a normal walking motion, the big toe bends upward
just before the foot lifts from the ground, then presses down to propel us forward – all without
losing our balance. Just try walking without the big toes helping maintain that balance.
So it is in our lives and in Rotary that we maintain a balance between serving ourselves and
serving others. We do spend a lot of effort on ourselves. We travel to weekly meetings and
pay for food and drink. We go to District and Regional meetings, and we gather from great

• Worth Reading.
• Researchers claim to have developed the 'world's first smart bag' that can
charge your electronic devices like mobiles and laptops besides storing
them.
• A Kickstarter project is helping to raise funds for the bag called 'Phorce',
website Mashable reported.
• The bag has a waterproof shell and specially designed pockets to safely
hold all the big tablets on the market.
• Additionally, the bag changes shape ¿ it can be morphed between a
backpack, a shoulder bag and a suitcase.
• The bag pairs directly with your smartphone via Bluetooth.
• Using that connection, one can monitor how much reserved power you're
packing.
• The pairing can also work as a pseudo-tracking device, the report said.
• For instance, if you accidentally forget your bag under a table at a coffee
shop, for example, your phone will remind you before you wander too far
away.
