Safeguarding statement
At Hawkedale we are committed to safeguarding the children in our care. We would like to take this
opportunity to remind you that should you have any concerns regarding the welfare of your own or any
other children in our school community please do not hesitate to contact myself Mrs J Davies Headteacher and Child Protection Officer or Mrs W Francis–White, Year 2 teacher and Deputy Child
Protection Officer.
No smoking
Please note that it is Surrey County Councils policy that no smoking is permitted on the premises,
including the surrounding areas of the school site.
No dogs
Please can I remind all parents that dogs are not allowed on school grounds.
Snacks and packed lunches
Hawkedale Infants is a nut free school, so please could you be extra vigilant regarding what you put
into your children’s packed lunch boxes as some cereal bars may contain traces of nuts. Also can I
remind you that sweets and chocolate are not allowed at school, if a child has any in their lunch box
they will be return unopened.
1
School pick up
Our school closes at 3pm, if you are unable to get to school for this time due to unforeseen
circumstances please can you contact the school as soon as possible to let us know. If your child has
not been collected by 4pm and we are unable to get hold of any of the contacts you have given us, we
have to inform the police and social services. Please could you make sure that the contact details we
have for you are up to date.
Behaviour policy
As part of our behaviour policy, if a child is brought off the playground for unacceptable/inappropriate
behaviour then they will miss play time and attend the behaviour group with Mrs Sully. This is where
the inappropriate behaviour is discussed and solutions given as to how the situation could be handled
better next time. If your child has to attend the behaviour group a note will be sent home letting you
know the reason why your child has missed playtime.
Parent helpers
Please speak to your child’s class teacher if you would like to be a regular parent helper. You will need
to complete a CRB check which can be done at school.
Car park
As you may have noticed, during the summer holidays we have had new gates installed at the entrance
to the car park and a new path leading to the bungalow. Please could I remind parents using the
breakfast and afterschool club to use the pedestrian gate and path rather than walk through the car
park. Can I also ask that you park with consideration to the local residents during drop off and pick up
times.
After school clubs
Monday - Football Club 3-4pm from 16th Sept to 2nd Dec (10 weeks allowing for the inset day on

School lunches
At the start of the new school year we would like to encourage the children to try the school lunch
option. You can mix and match school lunches with packed lunches, for example 2 school lunches and 3
packed lunches per week. Any school lunch will need to be paid for at the beginning of the week or half
term.
Labels
It is important that you label all your children’s uniform, PE kit and other school items as we find we
have lots of lost property that we cannot find the correct homes for if they are unnamed.
2
You can purchase labels from www.labelplanet.co.uk and if you use reference 35422 it earns the school
25% commission. If you wish to see a sample please pop into the school office.
