Delta Sigma Pi Application Spring 2011 Chapters of Delta Sigma Pi require that prospective members meet a few requirements before becoming a brother. The requirements are as follows: 1) Be enrolled in the Krannert School of Management, or enrolled in the following majors: Accounting, Apparel Design and Technology, Economics, Financial Counseling and Planning, Hospitality and Tourism Management-Food Service, Industrial Management, Retail Management, Selling and Sales Management, or Agricultural Economics. 2) Has completed one semester of at least 12 credit hours of approved Purdue University credit. 3) A minimum cumulative scholastic average of at least 2.75/4.00 4) At least two semesters remaining after pledgeship. 5) A prospective member must not be a member of any other fraternity in direct competition with Delta Sigma Pi. (The only one on the Purdue University West Lafayette Campus is Alpha Kappa Psi). If the above requirements are met, the brothers of Delta Sigma Pi invite you to apply for brotherhood in the fraternity. To apply please complete the following steps: 1) Please return a typed application and attach your resume. Applications are due no later than 5:00pm on Monday, January 31st to our office, Krannert B16. 2) The following Meet-the-Chapters are optional, but highly recommended: a. Monday, January 24th: Dinner at 6:30pm at Puccini’s. b. Thursday January 27th: Professional Meet the Chapter Event at 6:30pm in Krannert Auditorium. c. Sunday, January 30th: Around the World Meet the Chapter Event in the Krannert Drawing Room at 6:30pm. We will be collecting canned goods for the Lafayette Food Finders Food Bank, please bring 2-3 canned good items. 3) A committee will review the applications and those applicants who are granted interviews will be notified via email or phone no later than Wednesday February 2nd. 4) Interviews will be held on Friday, February 4th in the designated interview rooms in Rawls. Please indicate on your application if you have any conflicts (i.e. classes) on either day and we will do our best to accommodate you. 5) Prospective members for the pledge class will be notified no later than Monday, February 7th at midnight as to whether he/she has been granted an invitation to join the fraternity’s pledge class this semester. If an invitation has been granted, pledges must participate in a seven-week program, which is designed to allow future members to understand and learn the various aspects of the fraternity. As a pledge class, members will be required to sponsor a professional event, a community service event, multiple fundraisers, a social event, and also participation in a few other select chapter activities. Pledges will also interview all active brothers in the fraternity. This is done so that both pledges and actives become better acquainted with each other. Pledges will be required to complete an orientation program in the fraternity heritage and education, and demonstrate the desire and willingness to perpetuate the ideals of the Kappa Omega Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi.
