Attended a Pennsylvania Association of Student Councils (PASC) District Conference that focused on teaching students skills such as time management, leadership, teamwork, etc. Officer Participate as an officer which consists of planning and overseeing every event sponsored by Student Council, including the annual Homecoming dance and parade, a Christmas themed breakfast for children, and a dinner for Senior Citizens. Chaired two Homecomings which includes planning the dance, parade, and game, and chaired the annual Candy Cane Castle breakfast by organizing and leading a breakfast for children in the community. Attended three PASC District 4 Conferences, two 3-day PASC State Conferences, and two 7-day Summer Workshops that focused on teaching students to better their time management, leadership, and social skills. Sophomore Delegate (10th Grade): Represented fellow sophomores as the only sophomore officer and apprenticed the senior and junior officers by learning about the inner workings of Student Council. School Board Representative (11th Grade): Attended monthly school board meetings to act as a representative for the student body and to foster open communication between the school board and students. President (12th Grade): Lead and represent fellow officers and general members, which includes planning and heading monthly Student Council meetings. National Honor Society August 2008- Present Achieved excellent honor roll for entire high school career. Completed over 30 hours of community service, going above and beyond the required hours. Norwin High School Pennon (Yearbook) Editor August 2009- Present Assist in designing, planning, and coordinating the layout and pages of the yearbook. Edit pages to ensure they are without error. Norwin High School Interact Club August 2008-present Participate in a club that operates by the motto “service above self.” Volunteer in activities such as a pancake breakfast, a community “Read-a-thon,” and “You’ve Got a Friend Day,” a day that gives students a chance to spend time with a mentally/physically handicapped student from various schools. Norwin High School Family, Career and Community Leaders of America/ Student Caring About Families Club August 2008-May 2011 Participated in a club that strives to better the community through various charitable events. Helped to organize and set up said events such as the annual “Walk-a-Thon,” which raises money for a local food bank and a carnival for kids that raises money for children’s cancer research. Norwin High School Spanish Club August 2008-May 2011 Became immersed in Spanish culture by preparing and experiencing Spanish cuisine. PAL “Play Ball” Adaptive Baseball League- Coach and Buddy (Nonschool Related) May 2008-Present Buddy- Assist children with mental or physical handicaps in learning and playing baseball. Coach-Teach physically and mentally handicapped children to play baseball and encourage them to try their hardest through various obstacles. Baldoc Nursing Home “Hand to Hand” Program (Nonschool Related) January 2009-May 2009 Increased morale of patients in the nursing home that did not get many visitors by interacting with patients, playing games with them, doing puzzles with them, etc. WORK HISTORY Target Corporation, North Huntingdon, PA-Cashier August 2011-present Provide “fast, fun and friendly” service to all guests at the cash register and on the sales floor. Babysitting August 2006-present Take on the role of caring for children by entertaining them and ensuring their safety while not under the supervision of their parents. Bob Evans Restaurant, Irwin, PA- Hospitality Coordinator August 2010-August 2011 Provided a friendly environment for guests and ensured guest satisfaction from the time they entered the building until they left by seating them in the best area possible and collecting their money when paying.
