RBC Aboriginal Student Awards Program – awards of up to $4,000 for 2 to 4 years to help cover tuition and other related study expenses.
Eligibility Criteria: must be a Status Indian*, a Non-status Indian, Inuit or Métis and meet these criteria:
You are a permanent resident or citizen of Canada
You have applied or are currently attending an accredited post-secondary institution in Canada
You maintain a full course load that leads to a recognized degree, certificate
or diploma
You have at least two years remaining in your post-secondary studies as of
September 2016
You require financial assistance to pursue your education
*Indian as defined in Section 2(1) of the Indian Act

Irving K. Barber Aboriginal Awards – awards are available for eligible aboriginal students intending to complete an apprenticeship, certificate, diploma, undergraduate degree, masters or PhD, or teacher education. Awards vary from $1,000 to $5,000 depending on program.
Eligibility Criteria:
For all awards:
Plan to study in a program with a minimum length of 9 weeks leading to a post secondary credential;
Are First Nations, Inuit or Metis (defined below);
Are residents of British Columbia, defined as having had a primary residence at an address in the province for at least the past 12 consecutive months prior to the application deadline.

New Relationship Trust Foundation - assists First Nations students in BC to achieve their educational goals and supports First Nations language revitalization initiatives on an ongoing basis. Scholarships and Bursaries are available to First Nation students pursuing a post-secondary education from a recognized institution.
Scholarships are awarded at the Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate levels.

Husky Energy Scholarships for Aboriginal Students – 5 awards available for eligible Aboriginal students who live in communities near Husky’s operations to pursue post-secondary education. The Company also provides opportunities for work experience and professional development through the Aboriginal Mentorship Program.

Eligibility Criteria: Scholarship preference will be given to students with demonstrated financial need, as well as those with work experience and community involvement.
Relevant fields of study: Preference will be given to applicants studying Business,
Engineering, Geosciences, Environmental Studies, Computer Sciences, Law, and skilled trades, including power engineering and instrumentation technician.

Indspire - a nationally registered charity with a mandate to provide financial support to
First Nations, Inuit and Métis individuals who are pursuing education, technical training and professional development.

Post-Secondary Education eligible fields of study: Business, science, law, engineering, computer studies, education, social work, social sciences, fine arts and technical studies.
Must be in full-time studies completing a certificate, diploma, undergraduate or graduate degree program.
Health Careers eligible fields of study: medicine, nursing, dentistry, physiotherapy, pharmacy, clinical psychology, laboratory research and veterinarian medicine.

Apprenticeships, Skilled Trades and Technology Programs: part-time or full-time certificate or diploma programs (1 month to 4 year programs)

Apprenticeships (i.e on-the-job training): Through these awards, students can be awarded a bursary, a scholarship and an incentive award. Those selected will be assessed individually and receive funding according to their financial need (bursary), academic merit (scholarship of $500 to applicants who have achieved an average of 70 percent or higher) and completion of a year in their program (annual incentive of $500) and/or of the entire program (completion incentive of $1000). You do not need to complete the
Incentive application if you have already submitted the Apprenticeship application form

Completion Incentive Awards: This program is for eligible students that have completed an education program in an accredited institution in Alberta, British Columbia, or Ontario related to Trades and Technology within the last 3 months. Eligible graduates may be considered to receive $500 for the full completion of their period of program or $1000 for the full completion of their program. Submitting an application does not guarantee that an applicant will receive funding.

Canada Post Aboriginal Education Incentive Awards – the awards are open to all Aboriginal Canadians who have been out of school for at least one year, who have since decided to return to an educational system, and who have been back at school for at least one full year. These awards are granted annually to select applicants from across the country, and recipients are awarded $1,000 in recognition for their efforts.
