PERSONAL STATEMENT FORM:
2014 UNDERGRADUATE APPLICANTS
Non current school leavers applying for an undergraduate place at UTS have the option of submitting a personal
statement for specific courses, to improve their chances of selection. Current school leavers are not eligible to submit
this form. See http://www.uts.edu.au/future-students/undergraduate/essential-information/applying for information.
Up to a maximum of ten (10) bonus points can be added to an applicant's academic rank for a course from a personal
statement assessment.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

First apply through UAC for your UTS courses.
Check the table above to ensure the course/s you have applied for accept a personal statement.
Read through Preparing your personal statement to help you compose your responses to the Assessment
Criteria on this form.
Once you have completed each section of the Assessment Criteria convert the document to a PDF#.
If you are attaching supporting documents to your personal statement, convert them to PDFs and then combine
them with this Personal Statement Form PDF to form one single PDF document. The combined PDF document
must be smaller than 3 megabytes (MB). There should be no more than 5 A4 pages of supporting documents
combined with the Personal Statement form. See the Additional documentation section of the Personal
statement page for more information
HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR PERSONAL STATEMENT
1. Login to UAC Check and Change. Select upload and follow the prompts to submit your personal statement to the
relevant course or course area.
2. Submit one Personal Statement for each eligible course application.
3. The Single PDF containing Personal Statement form and supporting documents must be smaller than 3MB.
Important#
If you do not have access to convert the Word document to PDF you may email it to UAC's PDF converter at
conv2pdf@uac.edu.au. You will receive an email back with your document converted to PDF, ready to upload.

2. CAPACITY FOR STUDY
How has your educational experience to this point prepared you for studying the course/s you are applying for? Include
any relevant details of short courses, bridging courses or training you have done that relate to this field. (Results of
formal study will be available for us to view via your UAC application, so you don't need to include those details). (300
word limit).
3. WORK EXPERIENCE
Reflect on any relevant work experience (paid or voluntary) you have undertaken. You may also wish to include details
of your work history that you haven't already submitted with your UAC application. (300 word limit)
4. OTHER SKILLS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

If you are submitting additional documentation, combine it with this PDF after this page and submit it as part of your
personal statement. The Personal Statement and Supporting documents must be submitted as one single PDF smaller
