ACCOUNTABILITIES: • • • • • • • • Develop, articulate and implement an effective vision and strategy for curriculum; Plan and organise the efficient and effective delivery of the curriculum to meet stretching performance targets and excellent outcomes for students; Horizon scan to strongly position the College for the future to effectively meet the needs of the communities we serve; Provide leadership and motivation to raise to, and sustain, outstanding standards of teaching, learning and assessment; Play a key strategic role in the development of the College’s vision by working with other members of the Senior Leadership Team to secure performance against targets; Ensure student voice and stakeholder feedback are at the heart of improvement and decision making; Be a leader in our communities and drive forward the education, skills and innovation agenda; Communicate persuasively with a range of stakeholders and be an ambassador for the College at every opportunity - locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Learning and Teaching • • • • • • • • • • Develop, articulate and implement an innovative and inspiring pedagogy to drive an inclusive and excellent learning experience for all students; Lead curriculum innovation and planning ensuring that the College is routinely and systematically securing and responding to the views of stakeholders particularly students, parents and employers; Develop and implement highly effective teaching and learning and support strategies to improve the student experience and outcomes; Set and monitor key performance targets to improve the quality of provision and the student experience; Devise, implement, review and improve systems for monitoring progress against milestones and targets; Ensure that the student voice drives improvement and engagement at the College; Ensure that student support and engagement activities are purposeful, effective, enhance the student experience and impact positively on student outcomes; Lead on the forecasting of learner numbers and take prompt action to ensure targets are met; Report regularly to the Principal & Chief Executive, the Board and its committees on the performance of the College, market and future trends, key issues and influences and make recommendations on future strategies; Lead in promoting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion across the curriculum. Quality • • • • • • Develop and deliver the College’s Quality Assurance Strategy including the annual quality cycle, quality improvement and quality enhancement plans; Lead and manage the College’s response to external quality assessments including but not limited to Ofsted, QAA, Awarding Bodies and Funding Bodies; Ensure the college's Self-Assessment Report is accurate, rigorous, self-critical and that improvement plans are robust, purposeful and effective; Identify and achieve targets for all curriculum areas to realise rapid improvements in outcomes for students; Drive effective scrutiny and performance management processes that bring about rapid improvement in under-performing areas and extend areas of excellent practice; Provide analytical reports to the Board, SLT and other groups.
