General Purpose
To manage and grow a profitable retail operation for Titanic Belfast branded and non-branded merchandise through the retail shop, photographic concession, temporary events and online via the
Titanic Belfast Web store. The retail store will be the flagship store for the sales of Titanic Belfast branded merchandise world-wide. The merchandise will reflect quality, innovation and uniqueness in presenting a stock of “must purchase” items.
As a passionate service enthusiast they will be responsible for recruiting and managing the retail team and ensuring that this team is inspired to enable them to engage and deliver excellent customer service.
From an operational perspective they will ensure that the retail outlet is laid out in a way that facilitates the customers in navigating their way through the store, and also ensure that the commercial performance of the outlet(s) is maximised by the store layout and by making appropriate and timely decisions, which they will analyse and report on as required. They will ensure that the retail outlets have highest standards of presentation of both the product offering within the Retail Store and the Crew at all times.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
Managing the commercial performance of Titanic Belfast Retail, generating profit for the retail outlets to the levels set within the annual retail business plan and associated budget.
Manage the procurement and sale of Titanic Belfast merchandise and support the development of new and exclusive products, ensuring margin % is maintained and grown where possible.
Manage SKU database within agreed levels and manage stock optimally by working closely with the Stock Management Team.
Manage slow moving stock in order that the business is protected from higher than necessary levels of capital investment, associated with same.
Build and maintain strong commercial relationships with key suppliers, negotiating and managing all levels of agreements with third party suppliers.
Maintain and develop key supplier relationships including managing annual calendar of supplier review meetings

Develop and manage excellent sales and forecasting to ensure right product/right time/right life cycle.
Develop a promotions strategy aimed at increasing £’s margin for the business.
Develop wholesaling and licensing opportunities for TB exclusive ranges.
Develop and manage web based store model.
Develop and maintain a Retail Strategy Document in line with the changing needs of the business.
Source other retailing opportunities within TB (Events related merchandise) as well as the greater TQ / Belfast area.
Investigate and implement direct sourcing for the appropriate commercial opportunities.
Put in place effective and speedy actions to address positive and negative trends.
Set KPI targets and monitor results of same.
Agree with the CEO, and through Directorate, the retail business plan, including departmental yearly budget.
Monitor and control departmental spending versus budget.
Lead the Recruitment and Selection of Retail Floor Management and staff and
Photographic Staff and carry out probationary reviews for full time staff.
Set clear sales targets for the retail team and measure the results.
Coach and guide the retail floor managerial team to manage the Retail crew ensuring they are motivated to provide a 5* Customer Service to visitors
Ensure that the staffing levels are maintained to meet the needs of the business and in line with budget.
Monitor the full time crew’s work performance, attendance/ timekeeping and general discipline, conducting investigatory meetings with crew in line with Company
Disciplinary Policy as appropriate
Conduct performance reviews with fulltime crew members twice annually including identifying training needs
Partake in Key Holder duties to include opening and closing the store when required
Identify current and future trends/ merchandise requests that appeal to customers
Implement all Company Policies/ SOP’s ensuring full compliance
Be part of, and actively positively contribute to, any corporate meetings, or associated middle management group meetings, within Titanic Belfast, in the areas of both retail and other activities, as required.
Produce retail unit performance reports, as required, for inclusion within Titanic Belfast
Steering Group reports.

Essential Criteria:
Minimum of 5 years management experience in a FMCG retail environment.
Knowledge of profit and loss accounting within a retail environment.
