Learn about
Federation!
Mr Jericevich
Newspapers usually lead with a
dramatic and attention-grabbing
headline and story so as to entice
people to buy the paper.
For this task you are a reporter at
the time of Federation. You have
been asked by your editor to write a
story
on the Federation of
Australia. There has been a lot of
debate about uniting the colonies.
You are to write a persuasive article
taking a for or against stance about
the Federation of Australia.
Make sure that you use valid
points to influence your readers.
Firstly, you will need to list the
positive and negative ideas in
columns in your History book. To
help you write a front page article
use the following template:

In
newspapers,
paragraphs
and
sentences are short. Often the
paragraphs are only three or four
sentences.
BYOT students are able to be television
reporters and use their Ipads. Please discuss
this with your teacher.
What are your views on Federation?
