1. INTRODUCTION
1.1. WELCOME MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR
I am writing this introduction at a time of considerable for Green Hill Institute. We
have only been in existence for a few years, but we have made considerable progress
in this short time.
From opening the institute with 7 students in 1999 with single program and have
grown to a current enrollment of 120 for the 2010/2011 Academic year, 80 in
certificate programs and 40 to non certificate programs.
Further we have integrated the institute from a single program to four schools, which are School of
Journalism and Broadcasting, School of Hotel Operation Management, School of Travel and Tourism
Studies and the School of Business Studies.
As you will see from this publication we conduct several training programs, Certificates and non certificates
programs. Also we provide business consultancy in Hospitality Industry and other related industries.
Due to many changes and challenges taking place both nationally and internationally, Green Hill Institute
considered it of outmost importance to chart its future direction and develop strategies that will allow the
institute to play the most effective national and academic role.
We therefore carried out a comprehensive strategic planning exercise and have produced ambitious Rolling
strategic plan to guide us through the next five years. We recognize that we now have a responsibility to
work even harder to implement our plans and to continue to strength the institute and build capacity.
We hope that you will be encouraged to apply to study at our institute and join the Green Hill Institute
community after reading this publication. We have tried to provide you with all the information you need to
make a choice as the decision you make about your studies is a very important one that will affect your
