In July this year, HOPE worldwide will organize a trip for volunteers to host a English summer camp in a high school
and visit sponsored students in the location below. The details are as follows:

 To provide a meaningful volunteer opportunity to participants
 To develop friendship with the local students that encourages them to succeed in
school
 Visit sponsored students in the mountain areas to verify their families’ economic
status, programme of China Students Sponsorship and “Send me a letter”
 Sight-seeing

Details
 Volunteer aged 5 years old or above (For children aged 5 – 12, they must be
accompanied by parents or guidance. For teenagers aged 13 – 18, interview may be
required prior to admission)
 If number of registration exceeds the quota, participants will be selected first-comefirst-serve basis
 Application deadline: June 28, 2012 (Thu), 5:00pm (Application can be made
through mailing / fax / e-mail)

 Total tour fee is approx HKD4,800. It includes flight between Shenzhen and Lan Zhou,
(the air-ticket fee will be a bit higher as Hong Kong has no direct flight to Lan Zhou. It
cost around HKD3000)
 Our programme is sponsored by Commission on Youth. The tour fees will be at
HKD2,300 for each participant qualified for sponsorship. (Please refer to details of
scheme criteria)
 Fees are including (The schedule may be adjusted based on actual arrangement and
the participants will be notified on or before our pre-trip meeting):
o Travelling fees from Hong Kong to Shenzhen (as no direct flight between Hong
Kong to Lan Zhou)
o Flights between Shenzhen and Lan Zhou
o Transportation in Hui Ning
o Hotels
o Meals
o Sight-seeing Fee
o Insurance Fee
Day 1 ~ July 29 (Sun)
Travel to Shenzhen by bus, then, travel to Lan Zhou by plane. Accommodate at local
hotel
Day 2 – Day 6 ~ July 30 – August 3 (Mon – Fri)
Organise English summer camp at a high school in Hui Ning. Divide into groups to visit
sponsored students’ homes
Day 7 ~ August 4 (Sat)
Sight-seeing. Return to Hong Kong

Requirement for participants qualifying for Commission on Youth sponsorship
1.
Hong Kong youths aged between 12 and 29 who are holders of valid Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card, but
those aged between 25 and 29 should not exceed 10% of the total eligible participants, i.e. total 5 nos. in this trip.
2.
Participants should not have joined any tours sponsored under this Scheme in the past year.
