Vestments and Objects Poster
Task: Students will make notes on the vestments, furniture and objects that are used in the celebration of the
Eucharist. Students will then produce a poster which clearly shows a minimum of five objects and five vestments
with a clear description of their use and meaning in Catholic rituals.
Outcomes to be assessed:
Ritual: Students are able to describe and explain the significance of the furniture, objects and vestments
used in the celebration of liturgies. Students are able to state the liturgical seasons of the year and the
colours used at these times.

Introduction: When a priest says Mass there are particular items of religious clothing (called vestments)
that he or the altar servers wear. There are also a number of objects used by the priest during the Mass.
The aim of this lesson is to learn about these vestments and objects.
