Romania’s joining the EU, general aspect of criminality and related challenges in Europe, cooperation between police services, same human and ethical values defended by police, allow and require a common solution regarding issues of professional stress management and duty weapons using tactics. IMPLEMENTATION PERIOD: 15th march 2011– 15th march 2013 In Romania, the law enforcement profession is legendary for its high level of stress caused by a large range of factors such as: Work overload Time pressure Personal responsibility for using lethal firearms Police occupational stress has been often defined as a “global endemic” because of the very similar manifestations, more or less common to the members of police services all over the world. This is the reason why we choose to develop this educational project considering that the cooperation, the exchange of experience and innovation with the European partner countries is the most appropriate approach. Increasing the safety level of the community in the context of Police operational staff actions/missions Increasing the safety degree of the Romanian police operational staff during their missions Performing a research with the aim of designing a new model of professional stress management and duty weapons using tactics within professional context Setting up the Excellence Center for initial and continuous training on professional stress management and duty weapons using tactics and related training system (modern, effective, efficient) Research study focused on designing the new model of professional stress management and duty weapons using tactics within the Romanian Police Methodology, Manual and Curricula related to stress management and duty weapons using tactics within the Romanian Police Trainings Field exercises Anti-stress guide The impact of BIA, on short term, is that the police officers trained will ensure a better public safety, and on long term, according to Stockholm Programme, there will be established a common culture in police training, with partner countries, that eventually can be transferred at a EU level. The outcomes of BIA are: innovative Model, Methodology, manual and Currricula, training modules, Anti-stress guide.
