EXEMPT JOB DESCRIPTION SECTOR: LOCATION: Huber Engineered Woods, LLC 10925 David Taylor Drive Suite 300 Charlotte, North Carolina 28262 DEPARTMENT: Logistics JOB TITLE: Logistics Coordinator REPORTS TO: Michael DiBenedetto - Manager, Logistics CONTACT INFO: michael.dibenedetto@huber.com (704) 548-5436 Role of Job: This mid-level position will support transportation initiatives involving rail transportation, motor carrier transportation, and public warehousing. Additionally, this role will provide logistics/transportation assistance to HEW customers, internal staff, and HEW’s vast carrier network. Dimensions of Job: - Limited travel (less than 5%). No direct reports. Acquires data from various supporting applications. Subject matter expert for: rail, common carriers, freight payment, & logistics information including root cause & corrective action reporting. Manage motor carrier relationship at the tactical level. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: - - - - - Oversee the relationship between HEW and our common carrier dispatchers in order to enhance the partnership, and maintain world-class transportation service to our customers. Handle the daily issues that typically arise, including but not limited to: covering extra customer orders, tracing railcars, tracking down common carrier truck shipments, and reconsigning loads. Working with Inside Sales in reference to material that needs to be returned to our mills (RMA’s). Work with the mills to monitor and dispute rail demurrage/storage bills that have been incorrectly charged to HEW. Obtain data and prepare reports using multiple software application tools and databases. Obtain ETA’s from Inside Sales & HEW customers (through our internal customer portal, Huberwood.com). Additionally providing POD requests when necessary. Provide rail rates for customers and work directly with the various rail carriers in order to secure rail car capacity needed to efficiently manage customer needs. Maintain rail rate spreadsheet and adding to the “freight page” on Huberwood.com. Investigate and provide weekly carrier/mill “on-time” data for management team. Process the payments for: common carriers, HEW 3rd party reload facilities, and misc. transportation services. Ensures freight payment accuracy prior to approving payments via our TRECS (rail) & Lean Logistics’ Websettle (flatbed) freight payment systems. Manage and process all freight claims arising from HEW carrier’s damaging products during transit. - Tender common carrier flatbed loads via our TMS system on a weekly basis for all mills and 3rd party reloads facilities, ensuring that all load tenders are accepted. Complete Canadian Customs Invoices and provide customers with NAFTA Certificates as needed. Arrange LTL shipments from HEW mills or from 3rd party locations via LTL carrier’s website, including creating the BOL for the moves. Perform other duties as required. Major Opportunities: - Establish and maintain process and procedural standards. Ensure the effective and efficient operation of the LeanLogistics TMS. Decision Making: - Open/manage cases with LeanLogistics Solution Support & with HEW IT Dept. Efficient utilization of HEW common carrier base (based on rates and carrier competencies). Competencies: - The successful candidate will have a 4 yr. degree. An affinity for logistics/transportation including a general knowledge of transportation procedures and regulations. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills. Must have expertise in Microsoft Office applications with particular emphasis on Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
