Task Description:
Students will be writing a real-life moral dilemma scenario that shows the process of moral decision making
and completing a worksheet on this story.
Students will then write an extended response making a judgement on the impact of sacred writings and
ethics in Christianity to your above real-life scenario.
Instructions for the Task
Instructions:
After studying the relevant content in class, you are to complete the following activities.
Activity 1:
Write a story that shows a real-life scenario of a person or group dealing with a moral dilemma and the
resolution that is reached. (250 words)
Activity 2:
Complete the worksheet attached analysing the process of moral decision making in your story.
Activity 3:
Write an extended response making a judgement on the impact of sacred writings and ethics in Christianity to
your above real-life scenario. (500 words)
How to do the Task
Choose a contemporary moral issue and familiarise yourself with the moral stance of the Catholic

Write a story that shows a real life scenario of a person or group dealing with the moral dilemma and
the resolution reached that you researched in step 1. Have your teacher check and approve your
scenario.

Review the process of moral decision-making.

Complete the attached worksheet analysing the process of moral decision-making in your story.

Apply the CHIPS strategy to interpret Activity 3.

Research the Christian sacred writings and ethics related to your moral issue.

Take notes on the role that these sacred writings and ethics have on Christian moral decision-making.

Interpret the above Christian sacred writings and ethics and take notes on how they can be applied to
your moral issue.
Using your notes from steps 6 - 8, write an extended response making a judgement on the impact of
sacred writings and ethics in Christianity to your above real-life scenario. (500 words)
