Midtown Farmers’ Market NEW Farmer and Food Vendor Application & Contract
Saturdays, 8am -12pm: April 18 to November 07, 2015
**** This application is for NEW farmer and/or food vendors only. Returning vendors, please see the “Returning
Farmer and Food Vendor Application & Contract.
------PURPOSE OF THE MARKET-----Vision: We envision this marketplace as a hub of community activity, offering: a bounty of nutritious foods
grown and raised by area farmers, locally prepared products and savory baked goods, and high quality, handmade
crafts and artwork from local artists.
Mission: To create a vibrant farmers’ market where the Midtown Raleigh community can buy local, family farmed
goods grown in a way that sustains the land and our health. Our Market is dedicated to providing community
access to healthful food options and educational opportunities to learn about sustainable farming methods and
food systems.
Values:
● To bring variety and value of products to the community with integrity and honesty
● To foster an opportunity for farmers and Midtown residents to deal directly with each other, rather than
through third parties, and to thereby get to know and learn from one another
● To preserve agricultural land use, support the local agricultural base, and ensure the continued regional
existence of our agricultural heritage
● To enhance the quality of life in the Midtown Raleigh area by providing an environment that fosters
community and social interaction
● To give growers and producers of local agricultural commodities and other farm-related products direct
marketing opportunities
● To showcase the works of and provide direct marketing opportunities for local artists and craftsmen
● To expand the sale of natural and organically grown foods that are fresh, full flavored, unique, healthy, and
nutritious to the Midtown Raleigh community
● To create a fun, pleasant shopping experience

If you are interested in being a sub/fill-in Vendor, please check here
Sub Vendors will be contacted as soon as the Market Manager is made aware that a Vendor will not be attending
an upcoming market. Vendors are asked to provide 72 hours notice to the Market Manager if they plan to miss a
market. Therefore, in some cases, less than 72 hours notice about the availability of a spot may be given to a sub
Vendor. Current Vendors not scheduled for the Market will be contacted first regarding Sub Vendor
opportunities. Then, substitute Vendors will be contacted based on their availability and on a first come, first
serve basis. For example, the first Vendor to return their application and is available on the open date, will be the
first to be contacted about the open spot.
Please describe the vehicle that you will be using to transport your products.
Please give directions to your main crafting location (home, business, etc.) from the nearest highway or major road,
or include a map when you return your application.
