Gr=Quality Pts Quarter (2x) + Exam(1x) = Semester A=4 8 4 18-20 B= 3 6 3 13-17 C= 2 4 2 8-12 D= 1 2 1 5-7 F= 0 0 0 0-4 ExampleQ1 Q2 Exam = Semester grade C C D = C 4 pts 4 pts 1 pt = 9 pts Full Year Course Calculations CCPS will combine two semesters to earn a passing grade only if one of the final grades for a semester is an F. A. If one of the final grades for a semester is F, the total quality points earned for the year must be at least ten (10) to earn a passing grade for the year. B. At least one quality point must be earned in each semester. C. If one of the final grades for the semester is F and the two semesters are combined, the following scale will be used to determine the final grade for the course: Letter Grade A B C D F Points 35-40 25-34 15-24 10-14 0-9 Weighted Calculations Honors & Pre-AICE Add .02 points to each semester with grade of “C” or better Ex. Pre-AICE English Grade “A” (one credit) = 4.04 Advanced Placement/Dual Enrollment/AICE Add .04 points to each semester with grade of “C” or better Ex. AICE Biology Grade “A” (one credit) = 4.08 Note: The value of the letter grade does not change Grade Classification Zero Grade Progression For the first three years a student is in high school, the student will advance from one grade level designation to the next based upon completion of a school year of attendance. To be classified a senior, a student must accumulate a minimum of 17 credits and have an un-weighted GPA of 1.9 • If your student must miss a mid-term or final you must schedule make-up • No exams administered early • Grade of “F” entered until exam is made up Schedule Selections We begin scheduling in February, 2016 Please select courses carefully during spring scheduling. Due to the Classroom Size Reduction Amendment, we do not have the flexibility in the schedule we once had and cannot overload classes to accommodate schedule change requests.
