City University of Hong Kong New Business Adventure 2010 - Ignite Your BQ Whatever discipline you are studying, you are welcome to join the CityU New Business Adventure (NBA) – a business Plan competition. Ignite your Business Intelligence Quotient and turn your innovative ideas or technological products into a feasible business plan. Your team may have opportunity to get an award up to HK$8,000. Through joining CityU NBA Competition, you’ll have chances to: receive comments on your proposal from peers, senior executives, and entrepreneurs work with students with different majors and learn from one another attend training workshops on Creativity, Business Plan Writing, Presentation Skills, and Entrepreneurship Sharing apply for the Overseas Business Exploration Study Tour Eligibility: CityU full-time students from all colleges, schools, and departments Each team must comprise three to five members from at least two different majors (Double-major students are accepted) A participant can only join one team, and each team can submit only one proposal Competition Details: Round One Submit a proposal of innovative business ideas on or before 17:00, 28 October, 2009 that: could lead to the creation of a successful business venture or enterprise has not won any award from competitions before is limited to three pages utmost Round Two Submit a complete business plan on or before 17:00, 27 November, 2009: maximum ten pages, excluding appendixes such as charts, tables, diagrams and spreadsheets Round Three Meet the panel of judges on 30 January, 2010 afternoon to do a five-minute oral presentation with an eight-minute Q & A session that: two presenters should be ready for the oral presentation (only one will be picked) each question in Q & A session should be responded by only one member in one minute Round Four Qualified teams would be required to perform similar things as in Round Three to more judges Award Presentation Dinner All round three participants are required and subsidized to join the Award Presentation Dinner on 30 January evening after the final round. Full business plan should be sent along with the “turn-it-in” report. * Priority of joining the study tour will be assigned according to the attached scoring system on the basis of the students’ participation and performance throughout the competition. An interview may be carried out for participant selection. Registration: Interested students can download the registration form via SDS website. The completed hardcopy should be submitted to SDS counter on or before 12:00 noon, 5 October 2009. Organizer: The Competition is organized by the Entrepreneurship Society of Student Development Services (SDS). The Society is an initiative to help students to enhance their entrepreneurial spirit as well as acquire related qualities and skills.
