Texas History Week Nine: 10/22/12 – 10/26/12
Objective: We will be able to explain the significance surrounding certain events of the Texas Revolution, including the Battle of the Alamo, the Convention of 1836, Fannin’s surrender at Goliad, and the Battle of San Jacinto.
Product/Task:
I will organize events leading up to the Revolution as well as important events that occurred during the Revolution in order of occurrence.
I will, as a part of a group, reenact or explain a pre-assigned Revolutionary event to my classmates.
Activity :
TX Revolutionary Theatre
Assessment: Ability to, in detail, describe/explain various Revolutionary events
High Level Questions: Organize the following events in order of occurrence:
Battle of Velasco, Battle of Gonzales, Stephen F Austin’s Arrest, Battle of San Jacinto, Battle of the Alamo, Fannin’s Surrender at Goliad, Mier y Teran Report, Mexican Constitution of
1824, Convention of 1836, and Turtle Bayou Resolutions.
Homework: Review for tomorrow’s test. Finish both foldables, if you have not done so already.
