According to the Myers-Biggs I am ISTP. What is ISTP- (Introversion, sensing, thinking, perception)? The Myers-Briggs explains how I prefer to direct my energy to deal with ideas, information, and facts. I prefer to use an analytic and detached approach to figure things out. Perception to me is the odd one. It states I go with the flow to maintain flexibility and respond to things as they arise. The Myers-Briggs test, I took only confirmed some of my personality I had already known. I knew sensing and thinking would be part of it. I was excited when MyersBriggs revealed introversion and perception. Since taking the test I have paid more attention to introversion and perception. The first letter we will discuss is I for Introversion. What is Introversion? According to MyersBriggs on introversion is someone who directs energy to deal with ideas, information, explanations, or belief “The inner-world.” An introversion is someone can be sociable needs tranquility to regain their energy. An introversion is not so talkative but are reflective thinkers. I am an introversion. I love learning how items work or how it comes together. The first time I took apart my iPhone was to replace the screens. I learned how to replace them while at the same time learning how the phone worked. Introversion are said to be reflective thinkers, it only happens when I find something interesting or just catches my attached. I have been thinking how to write this essay for a week. I have been trying to clearly explain my personality while making the essay understandable. The next letter is ISTP is. You are right the S. The S stands for sensing. I am not talking about our five senses. A person with S in their personality test are detail-oriented, they want facts, and they trust them. Sensing learners prefer organized, linear, and structured lectures. Math I believe is a perfect example. The teacher can solve the problem providing an answer but no one know how he got the answer. Sensing people prefer and will understand better when the teacher showed step-by-step to get the answer he provided a minute ago. I am a sensing person math was much easier when shown step-by-step. Thinking, thinking, oh! That’s right the next letter in my personality test from Myers-Briggs is T for thinking. There is only one letter left in my personality test. Thinkers decide things impersonally based on analysis, logic, and principle. Focusing on the situations logic and placing great weight on objective criteria in making decisions. They want to see precise, actionoriented, cognitive, affective and psychomotor objective. I have to gather all the information before I can make a decision. P is the last letter it stands for perceptive. Perceptive people are curious, adaptable and spontaneous. They may start many tasks, and often find it difficult to complete a task. Deadlines are meant to be stretched while more information is gathered as they see time as a renewable resources. Perceptive learners often postpone doing an assignment until the last minute. They are also process oriented and will easily adapt as long as they know how. I am a perceptive learner, when doing book reports my mom would always say done wait till the night before. I would always wait till the night before to do my work. I would turn in some great projects, I did a lone ranger CD for a sixth grade book report. To conclude the Myers-Briggs test for personality is quite accurate.
