Tool 2.3: IUCN Private Sector Risk and Opportunity Assessment – Overview Template Where an IUCN project involves a private sector entity, a specific risk assessment must be conducted. The’ IUCN Private Sector Risk and Opportunity Assessment – Overview Template’ provides both an overview of company information as well as an initial sign-off process. The form sets out which information needs to be provided by the project manager, and what needs to be provided by the project sponsor. The project sponsor needs to sign off the overview template, which should be sent by the project manager to the relevant IUCN Business and Biodiversity Focal Point, who will review the information and feedback any comments to the project manager. These comments should be reflected in the final version of the summary template. The summary template references a Risk and Opportunity Matrix (ADD REFERENCE). This is an excel spreadsheet tool based on the well-known risk factors. Project managers must rank the company for each risk, with the resultant score reflected in the overview template. The tool also includes the EIRIS1 impact table, which should be used to fill in relevant sections in the template below.
