Bell Ringer: Vocabulary #1, Synonyms Directions: 1) write the words in the purple box on a piece of paper. This paper will go in your vocabulary section when done. 2) Using the sentences in the green box, choose a word from the purple box that has the same meaning as the underlined word in the sentence. 3) Then, write a sentence using the word your have chosen. Did you, or didn’t you like the book? Why or why not? You will WRITE a book review, and then PRESENT the book review. The Paper. MLA Format (1” Margins, 12pt font, etc) Correct use of Spelling and Grammar. Provides title, Author, and Genre of book. Provides a summary of the book, including plot and characterization. INCLUDES A REVIEW, or critique, OF THE BOOK. The Review Explain why you initially chose the book. Claim whether you liked or disliked the book. Explain why you liked or disliked the book. (The questions you had about the book and your reactions to events in the book) Provide textual evidence (use MLA citation) that supports your claim and reasoning. Do or do not recommend the book to a friend. The Presentation. You will pick the the date of your presentation. At least 3 artistic representations of your book and/or your critique. (art, photos, music, etc). When you present, talk your audience through the entire presentation with a clear and direct voice.
