All buildings will be connected through the cloud through a single
connection using MPLS.
The two core campus buildings (New Orleans High School and
Baton Rouge High school) will have dual connections out to the
cloud.
All router and switches will support Vlans, Gigabit Ethernet, and
QOS.
All buildings will route internal traffic to the core buildings for
centralized control and support of network applications.
All hardware will have dual connections to reduce downtime in
the event of a link or hardware failure.
New Orleans High School and Baton Rouge High Schools will
have Wireless 802.11N, deployed throughout the entire campus.
A new IP scheme will be deployed that will support summarized
routes for routing across the cloud and the internal schemes allow
for expandability when the need arises.



Verizon MPLS provider
MPLS Router at ever location
BGP MPLS routing protocol
Quality of Service (QoS) will be implemented in
on the routers to give voice traffic higher priority.
This will insure that packet traffic for voice and
other media connection will not be delayed or
dropped due to interference from other lower
priority traffic
Security
 Infrastructure
 Switches- Secure management, change
controls, encryption communications and
utilizing ssh and Radius.
 Network – IDS/IPS solutions, MD5
authentication and other network monitoring
tools such as packet captures and monitors.


Enhanced Interior Gateway Protocol (EIGRP) will be
used as our interior routing protocol. EIGRP allows
routers to share information it knows about the
network with neighboring routers within the same
logical area. Unlike other routing protocols EIGRP only
shares information that other routers don’t already
have. EIGRP reduces the workload of the router and
the amount of data that needs to be transmitted
between routers.
Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) will be used as our
exterior routing protocol. BGP is designed to exchange
routing and reachability information between
autonomous systems on the internet.
