5. Staffing News:-
It is with great sadness that I announce the departure of Kev, our Support
Services Manager at the end of this month. Kev has been at Doorway since
April 2010 when we recruited him from ReachOut as a Support Worker. He left
to go to university to study a degree in Addiction Counselling and then came
back again to manage our drop-in sessions and develop both our child
protection procedures and our substance dependency work with our guests.
He has been my ‘wingman’ and my sounding post for all my frustrations and
emotional outbursts and I am going to truly miss having him around to rely on.

We wish him every success in his new career in Bath, mentoring challenging
young people.

I am however, delighted that Kev will continue to facilitate our very popular
football project which he initiated and developed into the success that it is
today.

We will not be recruiting a replacement until the early Autumn so I ask the
entire team to please work together (and look after each other) to ensure that
the remaining staff members are supported safely while running the drop-in
sessions.
