3/7: We handed out text books and started the notes on the remaining chapters of the textbook. Read from
pages 770 to 779. STUDY!!
3/8: We went over buffers and acid-base titirations. Read pages 720-757.
3/11: We went over titration curves for weak acids/bases with strong acids/bases.
Read pages 242-256.
3/12: We finished chapter 6. Read the rest of this chapter, pages 257-280.
3/13: We got half-way through chapter 10. Read chapter 10.
3/14: Please review the notes I gave in class today, and re-read chapter 10.
3/15: I had a terrible sore throat. I missed class too. I had the students who were in class do a review
worksheet. I have posted the worksheet and the solution set on my website. Review this material!
3/18: I started chapter 16. Read this chapter! It is very important.
3/19: We finished chapter 16 and started chapter 17. Read chapter 17.
3/20: We nearly completed chapter 16 on electrochemistry. Look over chapter 17 and the notes.
3/21: We finished chapter 16. Start reading chapters 17 and 18.
3/22: I handed out review problems. Spend at least a half-hour each day over break on these problems. I’ll
try to post solutions on my website before I leave today. It’s now 10:00 am, but I am unable to access the
scanner.
4/1: We went over chapter 18. Read this chapter and chapter 19. Review the work I gave you before the
break.
4/2: Read chapter 20.
4/3: Read chapter 21.
4/4: We went over nuclear chemistry. Read chapter 22.
4/5: We finished organic chemistry. Start working on the material I gave you prior to Spring break.
4/8: We finished the notes. Do problems 1 and 2 from the 2009 open ended response questions.
4/9: We went over the 2009 exam. Do problems 5 and 6. Read over the 2012 open ended response
questions.
4/10: We went over the 2009 exam and started the 2012 exam. Do problems 2 through 4 of the 2012
exam.
4/11: We went over problems 2-5 on the 2012 exam. Do problems 1 and 2 from the 2011 exam for
homework.
4/12: We started the 2011 exam. Complete problems 2 through 4 of the 2011 exam for homework.
4/15: We worked on the 2011 exam. Complete problem six from that exam. Do problems 1 and 2 from
the 2011 form B exam.
4/16: We finished the 2011 exam and part of the 2011 form B exam. Do problems 5 and 5 from the 2011
form B exam, and problems 1, 2 and 3 from the 2010 exam.
4/17: We went over the 2011 form B exam and started the 2010 exam. Finish the problems on the 2010
exam.
4/18: We finished the 2010 exam and started the 2010 form B exam. Complete the 2010 form B exam.
4/19: We completed the review of the 2010 form b exam. Work on the multiple choice questions I gave
you in class.
4/22: We went over half of the review multiple choice questions. For homework, do the 29 review
multiple choice problems I gave you in class today.
4/23: We went over the multiple choice questions in class. Continue to study the past exams.
4/24: Due to state testing, we did not meet today.
4/25: We reviewed the 29 multiple choice questions from the ap chem booklet. Work on the 75 multiple
choice questions I handed out in class today.

4/30: We went over the 1990 multiple choice questions. Complete the exam I gave you in class today. I
apologize that I am unable to schedule an after hours study session for the exam, but between prom and
funerals, we are all pressed for time.

5/8: Because most of the students were absent due to AP testing, we didn’t have class. We discussed the
island of Jersey.
5/9 through 5/13: We’ve been going over the released free response questions.
Tomorrow, we will be attending the dress rehearsal for the school play.
5/14: It was a good play!! Great job, thespians!!
5/15: With all the kids taking various AP exams, we had a relaxing day reading articles from various
newspapers around the country.
5/16: We saw some nifty demonstrations.
5/17: We saw more nifty demonstrations.
5/20: We did the mole-mass lab. We will do the write up in class tomorrow.
5/21: We completed the mole-mass lab. We completed the write up in class.
5/22: We did the hydrochloric acid and baking soda lab. We completed the write up in class.
5/23: We did a new version of the mass-volume lab. We completed the write up in class.
5/24: We did an acid-base titration to find the mass percent of vinegar in household vinegar.
5/28: We determined the molar mass of an unknown gas using the Dumas method.
5/29: We did the empirical formula of the oxide of magnesium lab. We’ll do the write up in class
tomorrow.
5/30: We went over the problems for the final exam.
5/31: Seniors took the first half of the final exam. They will take the second half on Monday. Be sure to
turn in your textbooks! The juniors reviewed open ended response questions.
6/3: The seniors completed their final exams. All of the juniors will take their final exam on Wednesday.
