Language skills
1. In the sentences “Tom Hanks plays a
man named Chuck Noland “,the verb
means “act” but not entertain oneself
Eg. China is playing an important role on
the international stage .
2. “So …that” ,it applies to emphasis result.
The adding words in the blank should be
adjective .
eg:I am so glad that I cry out
3 Hunt for: to look for or search
eg: I have been hunting for you everywhere
4 The distinction between “such as” and “for
example”.
“such as” expresses the enumerations of object,
while “for example” usually takes an example to
explain sth. It is often separated from the
sentence by a comma.
We shall distinct them in the following
sentence easily:
We make friends with animals and even
things .For example, many of us have pets,
and we all have favorite objects such as a
lucky pen or a diary.
“As…as”, it means “be equal in sth”, it only
applies to the original comparation, that is
to say, it should be original abjective in
the middle of “as…as”
eg: The room is as big as that.
He is as tall as you.
