Renseignements: Examen Midterm
Il y a 5 parties de cet examen: l’écoute, la grammaire, le vocabulaire, l’écriture, et la culture.
1. L’écoute : C’est quel magasin ? Madame will say an item of food she bought, you will select the store she bought it at from a
list. Ex: J’ai acheté des bananes. (You mark “le marché).
2. La grammaire: You will conjugate the Big 4 (avoir, être, aller, faire) and pouvoir in fill-in-the-blank format. Ex: Je
_______________ (faire) du volley. (you write “fais”)
3. Le vocabulaire: Part One: For vocab sections 1, 2, and 6, given the English term, you will write the French term. Spelling and
accents count! (Ex: What would you like? You write “Vous désirez?”)
Part Two: For vocab sections 3, 4, and 5, I will give you a category of food/drink, and you will write the English and the French
for your choice of appropriate vocabulary. For example, I may ask you to write 5 fruits, 3 vegetables, 5 meats, 3 drinks, etc. You
would write both the English and the French. You get to choose which terms to write. Spelling and accents count!
4. L’écriture: D’habitude, je mange… Aliens have abducted you so they can study the human race and then colonize Earth. Zor,
your alien keeper, wants to know about healthy human eating and drinking habits. They chose you because you are a healthy
teenage human. He asks you to write about what healthy people eat on a regular day. Write about each meal you eat, what
time you eat it, what you eat and drink, etc. Also include information about what others eat so Zor can get an idea of healthy
human eating habits. Use the Mots de Transition from your vocab list to connect your sentences. Be sure to write in paragraphs,
organize your thoughts, and use correct spelling, accents, and conjugation of verbs. Use as many food and drink items as
possible, and remember that brand names or English names don’t count (ie Takis, Cheetos, Poptarts, don’t count).
5. Culture: Complete a graphic organizer that shows the similarities and differences between French and American food culture
and practices, based on discussions we’ve had in class, your own personal knowledge, and research you do.
