Professional experience:
I have over 20 years of experience in student unions and auxiliary
services, some of which were spent managing the accounting function
for the $70 million enterprise that comprises the UCLA student store,
cash food service, Student Union operations. In 1988 I assumed
responsibility for the financial and programmatic activities of the
undergraduate and graduate student governments with a combined
budget of $2.5 million. For the last 8 years I have served as the
Director of the Student Union and Student Support Services. This
entails providing the delivery of support services to the UCLA student
community, and for a student union operation that furnishes a focal
point for campus cultural and educational programs and services.
These functions are accomplished by the Operations, Events, Game
Room, Student Government Accounting, Plant Maintenance, Custodial,
Facilities Development, and Utilities/Energy Management Departments
